i heard somewhere the blue banisters turning green and grey is a process of bruises healing. First they start off blue, then green and then a grey type colour and her friends and sister are there to help heal them.

I find it so amazing to see how lana has matured musically, while at the beginning of her career she was singing about abusive and problematic relationships, drugs, being free, alchool etc nowadays she sings about deeper and more mature themes like change, motherhood, art, family, friends, running away from chaos, settle down, all this while still being her. It was a great journey, thanks for the awesome reactions, cant wait for the new album.

Few songs from this album, like "Nectar of the Gods" and "Living Legend" were intended for Ultraviolence, or recorded around that time. Thunder and Dealer I think were part of a joint album she had recorded with the Last Shadow Puppets (same recording where California came from - that made the cut for NFR; Dealer was cut from Chemtrails) - not too important, just fun trivia 👋 lol.

I wish more people understood the reference to Picasso in Beautiful, when she says there would be no Blue Period, that’s a time in his life where Picasso only made paintings in the color blue.

I have not stopped listening to this album since it came out! To me a lot of the topics and themes are so relatable and I feel like that plays a huge role in why I love this album so much. I feel like it’s so personal and mature. So glad you got to enjoy it!

I find her earliest work under the name of May Jailer (Sirens) kinda has the same vibes as Blue Banisters.

@@elvideoentertainment back in 2006 she released an album called Sirens. You can only find it on youtube. Sha was May Jailer back then. An acoustic guitar queen.

cherry blossom is obviously a lullaby to her children. BUT i do believe she once lost a baby, like, honestly, i do believe that. "little ghost"??? hmmm?? lana??? and i have my reasons to believe it. but im too lazy to write them up rn lol but trust me, thats a thing.

my theory is that she talks to the “promised child” from the title track. now i know she wrote cherry blossom a long time ago, but it makes sense conceptually, since it’s a breakup album.
