"the greatest" for me is the perfect song to describe the whole album and the album cover, along with "mariners apartment complex" lana is singing about wanting everything to be like before, the loss or the change of things, as the culture is going to shit, that's why the "kanye west is blond and gone" line, kanye, who was a very important and promising figure, has ended up supporting Donald Trump and shit; climate change, how every year there are more and more fires, that we must do something now before it gets worse, thats why at the end of the song, she says "oh, the live stream's almost on" criticizing how we all worry so much about wars, the environment, etc.. but then we do nothing to prevent it and go on to other things (On the cover of the album there is a couple running away from LA that is on fire, everything has gotten worse, like it is no longer what it was, how the American dream has disappeared, Lana holds out her hand to us so that we can escape from all this, which looks beautiful but it breaks you inside) PS: sorry for my shitty english lmao

Im new to lanas music i just listened to her 2019 album for the first time with my headphones at night and when i tell you my whole body had chills when i played the greatest with the guitar chorus it was such an amazing feeling will not forget it.
