Edit: apparently the first part of my comment isnt right! It appears i fell "victim " to misinformation! That doesnt mean we shouldnt take care of ourselves and keep in touch . Take care of yourselves and oneanother! I never knew this song was written for her friend that committed suicide but somehow, that makes the entire video make sense: shot hazy, like memories, two women having fun, depressive atmosphere and smoke everywhere...not to mention we see her jump a number of times. Man, I knew this song for a long time but this is the first time the video makes sense. I love her for this because it's important to remember the dead. Also, it proves true sentiment produces the greatest work, or at least the most powerful. I always had chills listening to this, now I know why. For anyone going through tough times, please, hold on, be as strong as you can and you see, it always gets better. People *will* cry if you die. You matter. The struggle isn't worth your life, please seek help from friends and family, or even a professional. Try to push through, try to fight it. Day by day, try to beat it, you matter. You matter so much.

That's amazing of you! And you're right, not all cases are the same, so I bet there are tons of cases like yours. You pulling through, relying on yourself is brave and speaks of a great strength. You should be proud. And of course, if that's the case and you can't rely on friends and family, there's always the professionals you can turn to and if you can't afford that then the suicide prevention hotline. Alberto I saw it in an article that this music was about her bff(you can search ) and they also believe they used to love each other as lovers but it wasn’t confirme and if you see the mv you can understand that she is talking about a girl ( when she fell out of the bridge might symbolize suicide ) when the 2 girls are in the same scene it’s about some old memories like bff , and the « kiss me hard before you go » « I know if I go, l’ll die happy tonight » « think I’ll miss you forever » and notice how this time it’s a girl while normally she is talking about boys, daddy..

I would just like to point out that this song is stolen. In the chorus part (I got that summertime summertime sadness), the melody is the EXACT SAME as the orchestra in "Everybody's on the run" by "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds" If you don't believe me, listen to the song and skip to 23 seconds in and you'll hear the EXACT SAME melody. And bear in mind, "Everybody's on the run" released on the 17th October 2011, while "Summertime sadness" released on January 1st 2012. And the album that includes "Everybody's on the run" hit no.1 when it released, so there's a high chance that Lana Del Rey would probably be aware of the song and would probably know that that melody was already being used.
