if you had carbon ceramic brakes on your R8 it wouldnt rust. the reason brake rotors (the rusty bit) rust up like that is because when you are on the brakes it is metal on metal to stop the car and usually and in this case both metals are different types which in most cases causes rust because 2 different metals together doesnt get along. so basically if you let it sit and it doesnt get driven often or you brake hard and create a lot more heat then you will definitely see oxidation. there's no need to worry because even though it rusts it will take a while before you get through the disc into the ventilated slots in the center of it. by then your brake pads would have been changed at least once. my first car (still have it just because i can afford to and i think it's an important piece of my life, i love cars) if i let it sit 2 days before driving it, when i do drive it i can feel and hear the brakes scrubbing off the rust. my current daily has carbon ceramics and ive never let it sit for more than a day without driving it even slightly. anyways yea no need to worry about it. not yet at least.
