Because Nik makes everyone smile, he's been through a lot and seeing him feeling great puts a smile on anyone's face, including Lizzy. Remember when Lance had that bacterial infection in his eye? Whenever he would see Lizzy or Adin it made him feel good. I don't see the big deal in why Lizzy was happy to see her good friend.
