Skincare is EXTREMELY personal and evokes a great deal of passion. I'm not a dermatologist or a doctor, so all opinions on products and anything else I'm presenting, come from the results and findings of my own experience. If you have any skin concerns, please see a dermatologist/doctor. In today's video BECAUSE I opened my big mouth that I was doing this 3 months of Lancome on one side and Isntree on the other AND you guys have really great memories LOL I am telling what I learned. Yes, that was a huge run on sentence LOL What works for me maybe WONT work for you and that's just Okie Dokie because this is MY skin. Obviously I believe I'm doing no harm to my skin and I've used Lancome products for at least a decade. In my opinion, I've not turned into a damaged skin bag yet.

I’m sure both of them would break me out lol. I haven’t been tested, so I’m not sure why, but I think it’s plant (fruit or flower) extracts and fragrance. Interestingly, I’ve learned plant extracts or essential oils are actually more irritating to the skin than conventional fragrance. Cosmetic chemists formulate the fragrance to be as less irritating as possible. They take out the irritating bits. Plant extracts are the whole plant, and still have the irritating components in them. Natural is not necessarily less irritating. So, I’m not surprised Lancôme is better for your face. Btw, The Eco Well has a you tube channel and IG account, and she has a good video on fragrance formulation. It’s pretty safe for the majority of people. I’m in that small minority!

You know, it was Mary who got me back into Lancome makeup. Their Intimatte lipsticks are divine. However, I received a lot of GWPs with my latest Lancome products and I am kind of nervous to try them. I did a week using them, but went back to my usual blend of Chanel, Perricone and The Ordinary. Mary may just have me try Lancome's skin care again for a longer trial.

The Isntree bifida ampoule is SO good! I’m sorry it didn’t work well. I wasn’t a fan of Genifique. I can’t get passed the fragrance and alcohol.

I tried both and preferred Lancome as well. I wanted to love the cheaper one, but Genifique feels so wonderful and I enjoy the way it feels going on! It really makes a difference in my skin. Thank you for testing these and confirming what I also discovered. 🥰

I know Lee Ann I was so hopeful because I didn't want to pay that but you are right there is a LUXE feeling to the Lancome that isn't there with the other. Isntree actually dries down rather sticky doesn't it?

I love Korean skincare products and I think that currently Korean brands are the best on global market for their great products with safe ingredients. I tried many products from different Korean brands for the last two years and most of them are effective and improve my skin condition a lot. As to Isntree brand, I ordered some products for my friend who has problems with skin and she loves the product very much. One does not know until tries it. So, I want to try Isntree Bifida ampoule to know how effective it is.

Love the ending so much that I subscribed. I'm dying..... lol I agree with you on the Lancome Genifique. I received a sample bottle in my last Ulta order. I used it and visually saw a HUGE improvement with my sun damaged/age spots. They were much, much, lighter and became almost concealable with make-up. I did go and purchase the product again and I love it. I have never used the Isntree before. I may try it, but I'm with you on the Lancome, I LOVE it!!!

Hi Mary I have severely dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin and am on my second bottle of the Isntree - no breakouts and no irritation. It works for my skin. The eye balm also really works for me at night over a serum, but I use a lot of balms on my face as I'm so dry. It may be that the Isntree is a bit rich for you, but I use half a dropper full on my entire face and neck so you may have been using a little too much. I find it to be quite hydrating and both rosacea and eczema can respond well to probiotics, so that may be why my skin likes it. I don't think it's the best for oilier skin as it will be too much moisture. I use the serum in the morning over an antioxidant and the eye balm at night. I'm sorry it didn't work for you, but I can't have perfume in my skincare and wouldn't use the Lancome anyway (I had a massive allergic reaction to Lancome skincare several years ago and haven't tried any of their skincare since, although the makeup doesn't do that to me). I find the Isntree gives my skin some extra bounce, which is good for my post menopausal dry skin. For those wanting to try bifida it's fairly affordable, but it's not for the oily or acne prone amongst us. Best wishes.

I always enjoy you being so honest. I can tell there is a big difference between the two. What confuses me is I thought that Lancôme had a patent on the ingredients. Even though you didn't care for the product, your skin looks amazing. Enjoy your weekend.😊

Maybe they have a patent on the way it's put together? I'm not sure but I would say that it's the other stuff in the Lancome product along side the bifida because Isntree has some other things that aren't in Lancome also. MAYBE 8X the bifida which is a probiotic ISN'T good for everybody? Who knows why it happens but I'd say Lancome knows what they are doing ;)

I do believe that years and years ago when I use to drive around without sunscreen...Oh lets just not even think about all the stuff I use to do LOL I actually have a car that is 9 years old now and only has 16K miles on it that is how much I drive ROFL it's ridiculous and if I do go into the sun there is alway sunscreen and my doc actually suggested recently when I came up really low in D3 that I get outside more LOL but you are right so many people have such worse damage on the left and that's exactly why!! Good info though ;)

Lancôme Genifique certainly did the best job on the right side of your face. I would have stopped using the other product on the first indication of a breakout. You went the course to prove which was the best for your skin.

I was using Genifique and never saw any difference. I still have some left I think bc if I use something for over a month and I dont see any change at all then I toss it or it goes in the dead drawer!

Oh..now this is just a personal observation Christine but I don't notice the difference in my skin that quickly ... it takes at least a couple of months and then it's like you are just putting on your makeup one day and you know that you have a little something something. My age spots don't look as bad, my wrinkles aren't as deep and I have this glow..not a highlight kind of glow but just a youthfulness overall look that goes away when I'm not using the product ;)

I think sometimes the “dupe” doesn’t include some of the “helpers” that assist the star product that the original big expensive brand focused on in the marketing. It’s not always the ingredients- the recipe is equally important.

I started Isntree 3 days ago and on the second morning I wake up with my face full of small red spots. I don't have sensitive skin and I never reacted that way to a product. 😒

So I did a little Googling..."percent of bifida lysate in" Genefique, then Isntree. Genefique contains 10% vs Isntree, which contains 88%. Also, Isntree contain niacinamide as the third ingredient, which can sometimes break people out. In this case, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Have a blessed day Mary!

I did think about the niacinamide too Susan because that's not the only product I was using that had niacinamide. After I realized that this product was breaking me out I went to look and see what might be doing it. I never really have that many problems. This is where actually understanding all of the ingredient deck comes in really handy. I mean people can say "use this instead of this" but if they don't know what else you do?? You are right...if it ain't broke AND with seeing how poorly (thanks for that info KZfaq lol) this video is doing I think I'd just like to keep sticking to that motto in the future! Bless you girl!

@@GlitzyFritzy I have a friend that can use Paula's Choice Niacinamide 10%, but the Ordinary 10% breaks her out. You just never know. One could have buffering ingredients, the other not etc. Just trial and error I guess! 😘

I have wondered if lighting would cause damage with that blue light. I wish I could afford Lancome! I used to be able to when I was working 'for the man' but not anymore. Self employed for me means I have to be really careful what I buy. Happy Friday! (✿◠‿◠)

I've tried Bobbi's FACE cream before and it felt so nice and I loved the smell but it broke me out so I had to take it back but I've not used the eye cream before. I usually use face stuff first and then if I don't have issues I'll try their eye products. I've been waiting on the Clarins vs question LOL TRUTHFULLY BECAUSE I have 4 backups of the Lancome eye cream I'm using it at night but I've fallen hard for the Clarins because it works so dang fast that I'm using it in the mornings. I will probably continue to do that honestly....maybe not together but back and forth because I do believe you can get use to a product and I like to keep my skin guessing LOL If that makes sense. So in the future I will probably go Lancome, Clarins, Lancome Clarins

@@GlitzyFritzy My struggle with eye creams is they always burn my eyes. I stay well away from my eye so I figure it must be the fumes from the ingredients. Scented or no scent it doesn't matter. Oh yah.. your skin gets used to something and then it gets lazy or it grows a tolerance to it. My hair is like that. I usually have to keep switching up my shampoos and conditioners. Though I did try Revitalash (thank you Heba) and that stuff is magnificent. I really want to check out Clarins and Lancôme. I love makeup but skincare is so important for my ever aging skin. Update - I tried the Clarins eye cream and wound up tossing it. It burned my eyes! Nothing I’ve used in the last decade has done that. I ran back to CeraVe eye cream.

That's quite an experience you had Mary with comparing these two products!!! But, secretly, I knew Lancome would win...lol...I've used it for ages!!! I do use other serums here and there but I love my Lancome!! I have been using the Isntree TW-Real Bifida Ampoule for some time and I really like it ... a lot. Just another example of how Lancome with their Geneifique and Estee Lauder with their Advanced Night Repair are taking people to the cleaners with their products. And they don't even have as much of the active ingredient. But if some people have convinced themselves that a more expensive product is doing more for them, thats their business and no $$ out of my bank account.

I agree. These mainstream products are a ripoff. There’s no reason for them to charge such exorbitant prices except for the fact that people think if it’s expensive, it must work. I’ll stick with my Korean brands and some Ordinary products. They work just great….I mean just look at Asian peoples skin, lol

Does the Lancôme you get at Christmas last you all year, Mary, or do they have other sales? I haven’t tried anything by them, believe it, or not. I’m using a ‘mish mash’of things currently, and then I have to decide what to use now that I hit the big milestone, recently. It was certainly more palatable to say I was in my fifties than to accept that I am now sixty, missie! I’m expecting my face to fall off so I hope I find something that keeps it from doing so! Thank you Denise...I did it because I saw a video where somebody was saying that if you loved Genifique then use this product instead because it had 8X the amount of the ingredient that Lancome did and so much cheaper. AFTER THAT video people kept DM'ing me about it because they knew I loved Genifique. I really didn't believe that just because there was 8X more of this ingredient it would be better but I wanted to go ahead and test it since so many came to tell me about it. Funny though this is the worst video so far for views (that's what KZfaq is telling me when I login ) ROFL so maybe people really didn't want to know after-all LOL Wish I realized that 3 months and many zits ago LOL Oh well...I now know positively right ;)

Well Mary, you know you can’t please all the people all the time, and I think it’s great that you verified your belief that Genifique is the best thing for your particular skin. It’s awesome that you gave the Isntree a full 3 months of trial even though you had to go through 3 months of break outs. That was very fair of you. And you said several times that you were talking only about what was good for your skin; you never trashed the other product. Now you know for sure that the money you spend for Genifique is well spent! I liked the video, just as I like all your videos, and I may have to try some Genifique myself!

Hi Mary, what do you think about Charlotte Tillbury magic serum. My sister and my daughter claim it’s better then Genifique . I have never used it. I am a Genifique girl too.

I just got a sample of it and I've used it a couple of times .. funky kinda smell that I can't place but of course 2 days isn't going to tell us anything right? LOL

Mary do you use the Lancome Genifique serum and eye cream both morning and night? I’m waiting to use up my current serum and eye cream before I use mine that I got at Christmas with that special deal you told us about.🥰

No just once a day...probably work faster if you did it 2X but you'll run out faster too LOL

Iv heard mixed reviews about Lancôme . For me I should hate it , I have sensitive skin . Yet I don’t know what it is my skin just feels fantastic with it on. I wake up feeling more hydrated. I wish they would re formulate and atleast just move the alcohol down the list .
