Hi bruce , i ordered the same car last august and i agree with you , the boot space is quitte clumsy , should expect more from landrover technicians to solve expansion tank and carjack. It is very annoying that as a buyer you are not prepared for this because their configurator lacks info . But the rest of the car is so great that i also decided to accept it . Enjoy the ride

Yes. I am loving my car. I don’t like bland and boring cars and this is not bland. It has character - something that you can love - despite its faults!

Helpful video, thanks for sharing. I recently took delivery of a Defender PHEV and agree the boot seems a bit ill thought through, although not a problem for us as we don't have kids, just a dog. I think the jack solution is particularly naff, but the benefits of EV for local driving, lower running costs and better performance make it worth it, imo of course!

We’re in the same boat. Car due In a few weeks. Have you found a boot liner / dog mat that fits the PHEV by any chance?
@nohedes Жыл бұрын
@@Specialfungus not really I got a crate for the dog in the end that came with a bumper protector. Really liked the car but sold it for Taycan/old Defender combo. Hope you find something that suits 👍

1 year after the video being posted… the box on the side is where the optional air compressor would go.

You should complain. That big thing on the left is not on any of the pictures. Even now on the on-site configurator. Makes the boot silly? Especially as it’s such a big car, couldn’t they have put it elsewhere. All that intrusion for only just over 20 miles space.
@unclebicycle86282 жыл бұрын
The boot is square, is very capable if you put a net to the ceiling,
@hege7502 жыл бұрын
The big thing on the left is the expansion tank for the battery cooling liquid.

Maybe you should consider to return it and make a profit with the current market.. Btw did you compare the range with the new Range Rover PHEV? You might want to consider waiting for the upgraded version, that PHEV version has improved! I have a D250 L663, so I cannot compare, but I think the L663 PHEV is a pretty big compromise knowing that I need the full loading capacity, and driving around in a heavy car with limited EV range and a 4cyl. 🤔

Sorry to hear, I've got mine p400e now since a month or so. Waiting NL for spec delivery is insane so decided to catch a dealer demo. Bought it without even a testdrive. Love the car BUT since I also come from a Volvo (xc90) the boot space is a dissapointment...a bit...the clearsight mirror solves this partly for me (while regularly transporting a wife and two young kids haha). Hope they can help out at LR. I find Simon from PowerfulUk quite amazing in adding spec, maybe he will find a way.

The boot is certainly smaller but has the advantage of much better hooks for load nets. Because of this we can make better use of the space - using it all the way to the top on one side typically while have may something else (often the dog) on the other side. We have done a number of long trips now and so far we haven’t had any problems with space. I have just bought the high level boot light from Simon but I don’t think he has anything specifically for the PHEV. I am still waiting for a boot liner from LR (they took the order but it doesn’t exist for the PHEV) but after 6 months with the car I am not sure I need it. The standard surface is very durable and cleans very easily - not that I bother much to clean it! Overall I love the vehicle - despite the small flaws. I never managed to love the Volvo XC90. It was a great car (perfect in almost every way apart from no spare wheel) but had no character.

Hi Bruce; Land Rover says in specs car has 90 l in tank; I am not sure; I have done 3 refills, all around 70 liter, and I had only 100 km left, it seems more likely, tank is 80 l. What is your experience?
@brucepwilson2 жыл бұрын
Last time I filled up I put in 82.2 litres with about 30 miles to go according to the trip meter. That would equate to another 6 litres or so plus a few in reserve, so yes I think it probably is a 90 litre tank.

What about the tyres? All season pirelli Scorpion verde, have you tried them in snow? Are they ok? Pirelli website says they will perform 7 out of 10 in snow, or properly winter tires are needed?
@brucepwilson2 жыл бұрын
I have the Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain tyres fitted. They came as standard with the off road pack. I was worried the road noise would be bad but actually it is very good. The car feels very secure on wet roads. We haven't had any snow yet. My previous Discovery had all season "mud and snow" classified road tyres. These were pretty hopeless in the snow on steep inclines. I wouldn't have even have scored them 7 out of 10 in snow. It doesn't snow much in the UK but when it did, I used snowsocks on that vehicle. Very quick to fit and remove. This made a huge difference. But you have to take them off once the immediate need passes. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jLGkoJRl0d6vqps.html

Hello Bruce, have you by any chance measured the heigh of the battery pack hump from the normal boot level? Or would you be so kind to take a look and let me know? thank you so much.
@brucepwilson2 жыл бұрын
It looks to me like the height of the “bump” is a little under 4cm. (Maybe 3.8 or 3.9?) For reference the top of the bump is 87cm wide and 62cm long (fore and aft) We have done a few long trips now and actually the boot storage has been much better than I feared.
@tailgategear_eu2 жыл бұрын
@@brucepwilson thank you so much, very kind of you to provide me with the sizes. I guess it is a matter of adjusting a bit and find the best way to organize the space. Enjoy this great vehicle!

Hi Bruce, any clue in where I could find engine temperature gauge?
@hege7502 жыл бұрын
In P400e, the temperature gauge is only visible in some Terrain Response modes. At least low range + Mud/Ruts displays the temp instead of the battery charge.
@brucepwilson2 жыл бұрын
@@hege750 Yes. This is correct. You can’t normally see a temp gauge as the battery gauge is where the temp gauge would normally be. I think this is poor programming by LR as there is acres of space to fit one in and hopefully they will do it one day in a software update. You don’t need to be in low ratio. I can get a temp gauge when switching to Sand mode. However I also have an OBDI connector which are about £10 on Amazon and plug in just to the left of the steering wheel column. I then use an app called “FourStroke” on my phone. This shows lots of interesting data including temperature.
@hege7502 жыл бұрын
@@brucepwilson Yup tried it recently with high range and Mud/Ruts and the temp gauge showed up. Grass Gravel Snow is not a mode hardcore enough to show the temp, even in low range.
@unclebicycle86282 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks, very interesting
@unclebicycle86282 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree, is very poor to not have temperature gauge, it can affect engine in long term use, especially in cold areas. Normally Gasoline engines reach optimum temperature quite fast, but it should be displaid, because you can see how much left you have in your battery through pivid pro

Thats a shame mate , i would of told them i will be using this car until my orginal order is avaliable , that is outragous customer service , is not like is a pair of trainers , this cost the price of home for someone , they should be taking the time to check the spec before saying its ready for you
