It still makes me cry inside when I´m remindet that they stopped making the Defender. Now Land Rover is just another soccer mom SUV brand.

Keine Namen the 575bhp Supercharged V8 RR Sport SVR is a “soccer mom SUV”? I don’t think so buddy. Sure they make some cars that appeal to buyers doing the school run but that is what allows them to achieve the money to create monsters like the SVR and this defender. Car manufacturers cater for the mass market not the very small segment of car enthusiasts that don’t even have the money to put down a deposit.

I love the defender's boxy shape and even more fitted with v8 powerplant. It stands out different when driving it. I am planning to get one

Awesome machine even though limited run. Drove a original civilian LR V8 110 In Early 1980S. British Army had it on trail at Hereford, but the regiment preferred the Gucci Range Rovers. So we had it for a couple of weeks, a battleship grey V8 with black vinyl seats.. It was really unstable and a beast! No idea what happened to it. But could be hidden in some storage depot somewhere, rusting away.

70 year old design? Honestly what a pile of crap... You're referring to the series 1 which couldn't be more different. That's like comparing a smart car to an F40. If you're going to make statements in videos at least keep them factual..

yup, the Defender was introduced in 1983. It wasn't a new design though, rather a much improved version of the Series III from 1971.

All of the braking and suspension upgrades and they stick off road tyres. I wish they had stuck Tokyo S/T tyres on 18-inch rims with a return to centre steering damper if it is not included. I do not have the V8 but that is what my fast-road D90 has underneath.

This is the defender we needed, not the new discovery 4 in disguise with a range rover chassis. Just needed to improve the sound insulation and the integrity of the bodywork and many other bits to make it safer and refined. Like the Gwagen.

Forget the jibes at the presenter, it's that NA V8 which I have in my Dicovery 4 before they chucked in that V6 supercharged. Naturally aspirated V8 in a Landrover was the best decision.
