Wow! Besides the fact that I love daddy Whitehall, that Land Rover reverse-with-a-trailer gizmo is amazing!!! 👏🏼I’m not easily impressed by tech, but this has real life usability.

Thanks very much appreciated btw will be at Jersey Museum Bergerac Extras Reunion Saturday Nov 30th between 12:00-14:00 signing autographs and selfies if requested I was in Bergerac 1986-91 dud five Xmas Special noting two Role played Arab in "A True Detective'when Susan Young died & "My Name is Sgt Bergerac "Where the speaking part I made up dialogue for myself & guy playing officer and directed the scene & this was staged in a corridor made into police station at Victoria College & that was a very long day filming very early morning and I was performing at Inn on the Park that Night See You Saturday Looking forward to seeing John & Sean and all the fans Stevie 😎❤👍

The Land Rover Discovery is perfectly capable of a bit of wading - but we might not advise taking anything you're towing through the same (apart from a boat perhaps)!

Walked along that causeway earlier this year, great island to visit. Thanks for the video and what a double act not forgetting the Disco. Fantastic feature and must surely be a first? "All being done by the knob", classic stuff :-)

Does this really work on North American Airstreams? Because I own 2017 Discovery HSE Lux and Airstream 23D and the propane tank is too close and the camera won’t pick up the 3 dot sticker. 😔. Totally upgraded our LR3 to LR5 TD6 for this feature. Super bummed couldn’t get it working. But we do love our LR5 it’s a towing beast.

I doubt it, but what I have found with the Discovery 5 and modern vehicles in general is that visibility isn't that great so I wish I had it as backup. I am in Japan and unfortunately, due to super-anal Japanese regulations, I don't get this feature so I have to do it the old-fashioned way. Not a problem for me as the first thing I drove was a tractor and hay trailer and made to back it up into a shed on my first day. Best training ever.

There aren't any and here in Japan, neither can the Land Rovers as the Japanese regulations insist that drivers must control the steering via the steering wheel and hold onto it even if auto-parking assist features are used. Hence, my Disco 5 in Japan doesn't have this feature, only the trailer stability technology and the camera hitch-assist function. Most LR salespersons here have no idea about towing and ask all kinds of irrelevant stupid questions until they are educated which is fine and I'm happy to teach them, but the fact that they don't bother to learn is incredibly annoying.

Grr. It's not a 'caravan' - those are white boxes. It's a 'travel trailer' (or 'trailer' for short). Shame the Disco 5 I borrowed wasn't capable of towing my trailer - the 300kg it is lighter than my Disco 4 makes all the difference. On the other hand, if JLR want to give me a new fully loaded Defender on loan for a few years, I'd be more than happy to do PR with a large twin axle Airstream :-)
