Just wonderful. Feeding the food stock of Newfoundland and the Grand Banks to the Japanese. brilliant.

The problem is they are catching them before they spawn. That's what happened to the herring stocks in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Now the mackeral stocks are in jeopardy also.

If any one has old pics or stories of Salmonier where my Great Grandfather Denis Corcoran fished and his brothers and sons. Or pics of Crawley Island or stories. My Grandmother was from Long Harbour her Father my Great Grandfather Michael Murphy and my Great Great Grandfather Patrick Murphy came to Rams Island in the 1800’s from Wexford. They were 1 of the first 5 families on Crawley Island. My grandparents moved to Nova Scotia. And my Grandmother died when my mother was 5. I never got to meet her. I would be so grateful to anyone with information.

Catching the only thing everything in the sea lives off cod mackerel herring haddickk flounder halibut the most incredibly stupid fishery ever !

I am not sure of the exact year this was recorded, but I think it was 1987 or 1988 . Hubert and Eliza Rose were where my parents.

me and my wife want to move to newfoundland we will retire there , they are the nicest people on earth , we went there for a holiday my gpod they live good and happy hope to be there soon

@@mbm460ns9 I don't think you understand the capelin fishery's place in the economy or rural NL. We had our quota cut 25% this year, and despite all the doom and gloom from the likes of you and the DFO, it's been a banner year for quality and quantity.
