The airport is located in the eastern part of Gran Canaria on the Bay of Gando (Bahía de Gando), 19 km (12 mi) south[2] of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and 25 km (16 mi) from the popular tourist areas in the south. The lengthy runways made the airport an alternative landing site for the NASA Space Shuttle.[3]

@loverman2005 Thank you, it was a vacation flight with a lot of kids on bord , the approch was a bit scary for the strong wind conditions, but the landing was pretty smooth !

Flew with Jet2 to gran canaria and had the chance to meet the pilots - Tom and Bob - and they did a pretty smooth landing

@taxavol Yes on vacation flights children always are loud hahaha , I think that Landing in GC is one of the most difficult in Europe due to the strongs winds. Thanks and cant wait to see your video :)

Oh sorry no resort for me it's a place where i go to visit friends in Las Palmas City :) Yes Ryanair is good and important thing is that it's cheap . Gran Canaria is a nice place to stay, I personaly prefer The north of the island ( wich is not famous for tourism ) because I don't like popular mass places like Maspalomas and Playa Ingles, I suggest you to visit Arucas Town ( north ) Tejeda ( center of the island ) and The city of Las Palmas ( Search for Las Canteras Beach )better then south

Great video , sounded like an airborne playschool at times but the video and landing conditions more than made up for it ( yelling kids cannot be helped)

Personally i think las canteras is just a really boring beach. my fave place in gran canaria is juncalillo but for tourists it depends wt ut into

Las palmas is one of the most boring major cities I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Puerto de mogan on the other hand is amazing!

Ryanair is not good,i always take iberia but tourists dont like the stop in madrid,las palmas is not full of life and as a native i can tell u it wud be s boring as hell.In a tourist point of view,it wud be very boring if u just stayed even a night! unless ur visiting someone,its cool XD
