The KZfaq algorithm put your video in my feed and I am glad I watched! I am a new CDL Class A driver with the desire to drive heavy haul and your presentation was absolutely the best explanation of using equipment designed for one purpose, but finding that its ability be successful in accomplishing other missions was fantastic.

Hey David, keep the videos coming! That's a Nice fleet you have there Sir! I run an old 1983 model 316 (very similar to a 317) that I've added 4"x8"x1/2" angle on both sides for containers.

That’s cool. I know a few years back landoll had a little be of rep for rust. But I think they have it straightened out now. We like our trailers. They even build a fully galvanized one now. Thanks for watching. Great trailer

we use 930's at work, and if the 440's are anything like the 930... youll bust shock mounts like crazy. overall love them wouldnt run anything else.

thanks for the comment -- They have upgraded the shock mounts -- but changing shocks is extremely tight ... thanks for watching

The riggers we use, use these trailers. They load the Versa-Lift forklifts onto the back. Those Versa-Lifts are pretty damn neat if you haven’t seem them before.

@@ParkerSystems exactly what they are. They are neat as hell & I’ve been around them for 24 years or so. Not every day but probably 2 times a month or so. We used the boom had them use the boom attachment to set a 7,700 lb 1750 hp motor on one of our machines. Not the heaviest I’ve seen them do but probably more interesting. Heaviest I have seen them do was 47,000lbs with 2 machines.

"It's a 40 ton trailer, and that's why we don't have three-axle trailers or three-axle trucks." Huh? If the truck weighs 18k empty and the trailer weighs let's guess at least 12k, you're 15 tons in already before you take a pound of payload. With 40 tons of payload you're way over 80k max gross for five axles. How are you getting away with 40 tons of payload tandem/tandem?

You are correct. They rate the trailer at its capacity, 25k per axle, then assume your tractor has the similar capacity …. That would get you to 20k steer heavy axle (12k normal) 120,000 pounds take away the truck 20,000 - the trailer nearly 20,000 for the 53 and your right at 80,000 capacity. Of course this comes with all the exclusions tires rims tractor axels and local ordinances…. I was trying to say the heaviest thing we have is around 50,000 so we are all over the 80,000 for Georgia Then we buy a 100,000 year permit. But to your point we still have to be legal for the state. I was just trying to demonstrate where the 40 of the 440 comes from. You are correct. 20k tractor 20k trailer all that is left is 20 tons. Not 40 tons. So when we put 25 tons on we have to have the 100,000 permit for the truck and still cannot exceed the manufacture rating for any axel tire rim etc. Great comment …. Thanks for watching
