Landroid - pushing the limits even further: outside loop pattern for 50cm passage

By laying the wire in a special loop pattern one can form its magnetic field in such a way that much narrower passages are possible.
Until now it has been widely accepted that the smallest passage for the Landroid M had to be around 70 cm. Here I present a new method of laying the wire that can achieve a passage width as small as 50cm!

Here is the drawing of the loop: drive.google.com/file/d/1w-5AYEu5NGOmKb8PAzSg1G-CzAn_l-7v/view?usp=sharing The smaller the outside loops, the weaker their effect, the wider the loops the stronger, but they should NEVER be wider than the inside wire distance, otherwise they will begin canceling out the inner field completely. The widths for the smallest passage I could find were 10cm, 10cm, 10cm. You can also place a loop on one side only, for example for correcting the exact position in the docking station if the housing would otherwise hit the charging contacts because of unlucky field geometry.

Hi, Eine kleine Frage, weil ich das gerade nicht so ganz kapiere. 😂 Normal habe ich ein Kabel, das geht einmal um das ganze Gelände. Soweit so gut. Aber wo kommen denn die ganzen anderen Kabel her? Werden die ohne Anschluss an die Basis verlegt? Habe nämlich vor und hinter dem Haus Rasen, mit meinem alten RL40 und dem Leitdraht habe ich es gut hin bekommen durch die 60cm Engstelle zu kommen. Würde mich über eine Antwort freuen.

Super movie! In my case, the slot for the robot is 65 cm. Are you thinking about making loops like you show or laying the cable normally?

Excellent idea ! I have a 50 cm x 6m corridor and this will make the deal, thanks !!! Did you tried to duplicate the wire in the corridor instead of using a loop ?

hallo, super erklärt, ich werde in den nächsten Tagen meinen Neuen Landroid 😁installieren, ich habe zwei Gehege die meine Roboter überqueren muss, um andere Flächen auch zu mähen.... kann ich in dem Falle deine Darstellung auch anwenden??? liebe Grüße aus Österreich

it was 35 degrees celsius with the sun burning down and zero wind, and I have been making at least a hundred knee bends while moving the nails and the wires around and walking from one end to the other and measure the distances and occasionally grab the camera and film it, and I am 55 years old and stopped smoking only at the age of 50. This is why I am running out of breath pretty easily ;-)

Curiously it's mostly the heart not the lungs that cause the heavy breathing, even more so with smoking, so great you've managed to stop. I know it's very hard to quit sometimes. What convinced you? Smart setup, thank you for the video!

Hallo, auf meinem Grundstück gibt es einen 77 cm breiten Rasenstreifen, der von hohen Bordsteinen umgeben ist und keinen Ausweg bietet. Ihr geniales Layout ist im Prinzip für jeden Landroid-Roboter anwendbar. Mein Problem ist, dass mein Rasenstreifen in einer Sackgasse ohne jegliche Erweiterung endet. Die Frage bleibt, ob mein Landroid der gleichen Generation wie Ihr Landroid (es ist das Modell L1000 WR147E.1 - 2 Rollen vorne, Länge 63 cm, Breite 43 cm) in der Lage sein wird, in einem 77 cm breiten Raum umzukehren. Können Sie einige oder alle der folgenden Fragen beantworten: 1) Ihr Wendeplatz hat die Form eines umgekehrten Dreiecks mit spitzen Winkeln, die weniger offen sind als ein 90°-Winkel, von dem Worx bereits abrät und Abrundungen oder zwei aufeinanderfolgende 45°-Winkel empfiehlt. Gibt es einen besonderen Grund dafür? 2) Können Sie die Abmessungen Ihres Wendebereichs mitteilen (Kabelimplementierung + Raum, den der Roboter bei seinen Drehungen benötigt)? 3) Glauben Sie, dass meine Maschine in einem 77 cm breiten Korridor wenden kann? I have seen 50 mm been used for corridor. That should be enough, or at least as good as you can get. Making it one lane for entry and one for exit should not make it less wide.

I'm going to make a drawing next week. It is basically like the drawing I showed in the video at 1:38, only the corners are not rectangular, but this does not have much impact. I'm going to make a more detailed drawing next week.
