This is note-for-note the entire song, 100% accurate.

Hey all. Thanks again for your kind feedback! I just thought to mention: because of my bad recording quality, wear headphones and this is a lot clearer.

Here's a tab I made from the tab in the video above (somebody had to do it!): drive.google.com/open?id=0B7cJ8NK3PX76TmZhdWZxcUk5T2s I don't know which live performance Beavis408's tab came from, but his tab is pretty close to the performance Fleetwood Mac did on 'The Dance' album. It has all the essential Buckingham variations on it. I made minor changes, added lyrics, and put it in a 4/4 time signature with 4 measures per line so it's easier to follow, especially the alternate bass pattern. Thanks for the video, it helped me learn a more interesting and lively interpretation of Lindsey's fingerpicking than what I saw elsewhere.

+Sam Sasmon This is the exact tab of the live performance posted on Warner Brothers Records KZfaq Channel (about 16 million views). Here's the link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jbNnYLOK2b7YeoE.html Also, this is nothing like the recorded version of Landslide, which is an arrangement for 2 guitars. The version here and obviously all live versions are 1 guitar.

+Sam Sasmon *" It has all the essential Buckingham variations on it." "...a more interesting and lively interpretation of Lindsey's fingerpicking..."* That's a great point that would probably help people frustrated with the difficulty of this song: this version is the most complicated in that it has the most variations of any performance I've found. In other performances he plays a simpler version which repeats the simpler picking patterns/variations. *Best example: **2:32** - **2:42**.* Variations in those measures are an interesting alternative but completely unnecessary. You can ignore them and play the standard patterns from earlier.

The way I took on this song was to try to capture the big picture. What is Lindsey trying to do? The answer, for me at least, was he was slowly increasing the tension of the song as each verse or chorus finishes. For instance, he starts out each verse with a very basic Travis picking pattern. In the last few lines of the verse he adds dominant notes along the 1st string (A#--or G relative to the capo). At first it's one dominant note along the 1st string per measure, then in the next few lines it's about 2 per measure. Then we get to the pre-chorus and he resets to the just the bass notes and then transitions to the chorus. So on and so forth. When trying to sing and play it's hard to remember note-for-note. I'm not Glenn Gould. But by seeing the big picture there's a lot less you have to remember and plenty of room to remember the important variations he does occasionally to fill in the end of lines like in measures 19-20 or 23-24 on my tab.

I recorded this with one of those old digital cameras that actually looked like a camera! 😂 I had it mounted stationary with a tripod and it still couldn't get a clear shot of the Word doc. Oh how technology has changed since the early days of KZfaq! Lol

Hello beavis408. I just wanted to take a minute and compliment you on how well you've captured this song. I'd learned a simplified version of it some time ago using just a 5-3-4-2 picking pattern mainly. While that's fairly adequate for most of the song, it just doesn't capture the full richness of the harmonies. If you listen closely to what Buckingham is doing you hear there's a lot going on. I've been working on this version and, yes, it is significantly more difficult to get the right emphasis on the right notes and to go beyond the basic pattern I've been using but it makes the song so much more. Kudos for a job well done! You're right about the dozens of wrong tabs of this out there. But even some of them sound good and are ok.

Thank you so much for this video, thank you so much for the effort uploading this on You Tube. Is this the original Tab arrangement? I first heard this song from boyce avenue but I find this arrangement better. I find this song very beautiful... Now I can learn it in time for my mom's 60th birthday...

Did you learn it? I've been working at it for about two months and about 3/4 there.

Adrienna Aiko Rallos Your very welcome. My original motivation for posting this was watching countless KZfaq Landslide "lesson/ tutorials" that have the picking pattern always, always wrong. The chords are straightforward and so are the notes, but to get this right you need to play the notes in exactly in the *order* in this tab, and emphasize the 1st and 4th notes of each measure. Watch Lindsay Buckingham play it on the version at Warner Brother's KZfaq Channel. It's about 10 million views. Best version :) Also check out my other videos: I posted a clip of me playing this song, at a much slower tempo.

Here's how to get the tab without hand-printing: On each page, pause the video, hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard (usually upper right area), open Microsoft "Paint" or some other image manipulating program, click on Clipboard and the screen image will be pasted into the Paint box. You may want to resize down some, 75-80% using "Resize" and then "Crop" the tab portion of the image to get rid of the rest of the screen image. Save this to your Desktop in a folder. Then you can print the tab normally (click to turn off Best Fit). Do this for each individual page as the song plays through. You may have to play with the sizing to get a print copy you like, so do the first image to find the sizing you like. I do believe this tab is the most accurate tab version I've seen. Lots of the solo tabs on the net use the wrong fingerpicking pattern, but even then they sound good. Have fun. Bert

spending a few bucks on screen capture software is well worth the money--it's what I used to make this video--scrolling down a Microsoft Word file.

BTW, during the guitar solo, 2nd measure a little more than half way through the measure, there's something that I can't make out, too blurry. It looks like maybe a 1 or 4. I've looked at other tab and it doesn't appear. I think it's a misprint and can be ignored anyway.
@beavis40810 жыл бұрын
it's a 4, and no, it shouldn't be ignored. It's an important hammer on. It won't sound bad if you don't play it, but you'd be leaving out part of the melody of the solo.

Bert Bennett BTW, I do appreciate you putting out the effort to learn this and tab it out for folks. I would be glad to send you some money for your time and effort if you could provide me a way to do so. You could pm me on facebook if you wish. Otherwise, thank you very much for your work. Very nice job. Bert Bennett Jackson, TN

Bert Bennett I wouldn't charge money for this because I didn't tab it out. Found it on a (long-forgotten--sorry) website. What I did add are the chords above the lines of tab to indicate the appropriate chord form for that measure/half measure. Also added the "guitar solo", and note to "drop thumb" to aid in picking that rather tricky chord change.

Maybe this is wrong,but i have mostly played this the way Lindsay demonstrates in the Guitar World Y/T upload from 8 yrs. ago.(' Fleetwood's Mac Lindsey Buckingham Guitar Lesson pt 1')For me,being a gal,this is so much easier,and how I taught myself first just by listening. No Capo,and Lindsey doesn't use one in this first partThanks for doing this video..is a bit fast for me but its appreciated,sounds good to me :-)
