He's a pretty good DJ but I think his productions are vastly overrated. They all just use the same cheesy, boring arpeggiated melodies. He hasn't really innovated on his sound since like 2014, and he inspired an annoying amount of poor copycats who oversaturated the sound

Loving this new generation of musicians,guys like 'Lane 8' 'Ben Bömher' 'Spencer Brown' 'Max Cooper' 'Olafur Arnolds' 'Yotto' etc. have really opened a whole new genre of electronic music and it's brilliant..I've been listening to electronic dance music from 1990,when I first heard 'Gurujosh Infinity' and '808 State Pacific' and this new generation has lifted the music to a new level..👏🎹🔊🎧😌

Always come back to this. I listened to it daily through the covid lockdown here in the UK. Although that was a bad time, this set was the perfect release and brought calmness to the situation for me. I now have a son and he loves to listen to it too. I can see myself still coming back to this video in 10 years time!

I highly doubt this edited video was uploaded the *same day* (note lack of smoke from the Cameron Peak fire), but I was thinking "WTF?!??!" as well when I saw this come up in my feed. I felt like I missed something. Can you imagine being out on the lake early AM and see him DJ'ing and somehow stumble upon something so beautiful?

It was one of the most amazing concerts I have ever witnessed. It felt a house party with the most phenomenal music anyone could ask for. Saw him at red rocks and he had up put our phones in pouches so that we wouldn't pay any mind to them. Everyone was present, everyone just vibing in nature. Ill never forget it and hope that I can have another experience like that. I keep my phone away but when the mass did it, something took the most epic shift. I'll chase that feeling forever.

My favourite thing about this is seeing the skyline tilt in time to his boogieing :) It always makes it more enjoyable when a DJ is clearly enjoying things themselves, rather than being stoic and in their head.

Sending the most positive vibes to Grand Lake as it is currently burning to the ground. Such a tragic destruction of a beautiful corner of my state. Everyone here, please do your part to help slow climate change and end the mega fires in the west. When visiting our state and it's forests, please be mindful of fire bans, don't throw lit cigarettes or spliffs out the window and help protect our forests. This so much, I just moved away from the area a few years ago and it's really depressing to think about all the amazing areas out there that are still burning and it's even worse when you consider that if nothing changes, its all going to burn and be replaced by fast growing deciduous forests as the warming continues. We might be the last generation to enjoy those forests as they look today.

First... I am from Granby. This was because the forest service didn't let us harvest the dead pine beetle for the past 20 years. All of us that harvested our own property trees had our house saved. The federal governent didn't want others to make money off their property and it burned. Second... This was the fault of some asshole tourists by Steamboat that didn't know how to manage a firepit while camping.

If this becomes the top rated comment, Lane 8 should put on another concert in the exact same spot in September 2022 with everyone on their own boats around his boat. I am Australian and I would fly over and hire a boat to be part of that. I have re-listened to this at least once a week for the entire last 6 months since it was released. Incredible set in an incredible setting. Either way, a visit to the grand lakes is now on my bucket list and If it isn't to actually see Lane 8 perform, I will have this set playing while I am there.

Perhaps unfortunately there's no way that Grand Lake could host a physical concert. Not being named for its size, Grand Lake is less than a kilometer wide and 2.3 km long. (You're also seeing connected Shadow Mountain Lake which is a bit larger). Besides, Grand Lake has hosted a three and half MILLION attendee concert right here on this KZfaq post with us floating on our virtual pontoon / party boats. The residents of Grand Lake (population ~513) might be grateful all 3.5 million of us did not descend on their little get-away spot.

You obviously aren't from here then. The East Troublesome fire blew through this area 1 month after he did this. Starting from Steamboat, right through my grandparents property and through grand lake and over the ridge to Estes park. Most of the trees you see in this video are ash on the ground, dozens of those homes around the lake in the video are also ash on the ground. The southeast side of the lake stayed safe with everything north west, north east getting obliterated.

I have a cool job where I can listen with subwoofers going pretty well and I've listened Hundreds of times since watching this the first time and Ben Böhmer live above Cappadocia in Turkey and HVOB live at Copa del Sol in Careyes all the best in this genre. @@zedwards I know. We live on the other side and have been dealing with the Cameron fire for the past 2 months we just got home from being evacuated for the last two weeks. Our home was spared but unfortunately so many in the Grand Lake area cannot say the same. Its heartbreaking.
