Other terms for it is aslo called lect, which is another form that people use to express their feelings via language.

I've learned that on this lesson, the Three Concentric Circle of English which is the inner circle(ENL), outer circle(ESL), expanding circle(EFL), are basically essential to understand the importance of it to better acknowledge what approximate language are you going to use in a specific area. Also, the language varieties and register which specifically modifies the standard of it on what, where and when it we going to use. Otherwise, there's a four types of lects are, ethnolects,sociolects, regional lects and idiolects meanwhile there's a five types of register are static/frozen, casual, intimate,formal and consultative.For me, those manner of speaking will guide us to better fathom what does the language we're going to utilize in a different location or category of socioeconomic class whereas this matter should be our motivation to enhance our skills in a particular purposes.

I have learned that language variates is communicating with the people in another language. It is all about speaking and writing. We can use language variates in our everyday life and different situations that we are going through. Dialect is focusing in grammar pronunciation and vocabulary that we need to improve. Register is the way we speak a language in different way and what words, tone of voice, and body language you we will use in communicating. It can also help us to determine what is the purpose, context and audience. There are different types of dialect which is the regional, sociolect, ethnolect, and adiolect. The language varieties is the people who speak often serve as the basis for judgement. I've learned also the difference between creole, pidgin, patois and language registers which is focuses on what language you are going to use in communicating.

From the lesson, I learned that if we are going to be on a place or situation where people speaks as a native, second or as a foreign speaker, we have to know first where in the concentric circle are we belong for us to use the appropriate type of spoken or the language written that we are going to utilize. Furthermore, I also learned and agree that in formal speaking it really requires formal registers, and in informal speaking requires informal registers. And lastly, I was able to know the types of lects such as Regional dialect, Sociolect, Ethnolect and Idiolect.

I’ve learned in this video that the languages that we speak have variations and different registers. That level of formality may fall under the different types of registers, which are static, formal, consultative, casual, and intimate. In conclusion, I've learnt how crucial it is to use the appropriate varieties and registers of English when communicating since different situations and people require various registers.

From this lesson, I've learned that using an appropriate varieties and registers of language can help people to understand each other according to different situations. As we discussed the lesson about the varieties and registers of language, the varieties of language is also called lect it is a form of linguistic expression/ referring to the different ways how people speak They use lect in able to understand each other in their particular group where they're belong and place where they're live. They also use jargon or specialized language that can only understand by a specific group of people and based on what their profession is. I realized that using proper of varieties and registers of language is very important in able for us to understand and knowing our limitations to speak according to a situation.

Form this lesson, I have learned that there are five language register which are , formal, frozen, casual, intimate and consultative. Formal is used in formal setting like sermon while frozen is used in prayer etc. On the other hand, consultative is used in standard form of communication. Example is teacher & student. While casual is used by peers and friends and Intimate register is used in private communication. I have learned that it is important to understand the differences between registers so we can use the appropriate language that is appropriate for a particular situation. And also by understanding the language varieties and registers we can easily successfully communicate to other people .

Language Variation and Register regards the proper use of words in a given situation. Sometimes, this may refer to the tone we use depending on we are confronted with. When in use, we can differentiate the use of these variations and registers when we are communicating in general. Examples would be the use of jargons when in court, or the use of formal register when talking to co-workers and the like. Of course, these variations of language vary depending on the setting where communication takes place. Communication itself is a way to connect with others, but with the proper use of variations and registers according to a situation, we can further utilize our language in a way we are intended to do so.
