You will probably need support onsite. The most likely cause is that the film is pulling too hard at the start when it should be doing what's called "reduced tension". But the root problem can vary and is not so easy to diagnose. A cheat you can try is to increase the acceleration time of the rotation so it doesn't go so fast at the beginning.

There is a solenoid that pushes up a tab near the end of the cycle, if it doesn't raise then it could be jammed or not getting power. The other thing it could be is the small roller on the side of the turntable near the grabber; often the machines are bent due to forklifts hitting it and the tab no longer is in the correct position to hit the roller.

You would need to determine if it's actually the blades not able to cut though the plastic, or if the scissor mechanism is not completing the cycle. If the blades are not cutting the film then there may be loose or worn parts that allow the blades to move too far apart. If if does not try to cut then the scissor assembly is not resetting and would probably want to look at the long spring on the XT system or see if the sliding parts are jamming against something.

If you mean the part that grabs the film, and it is staying up, then something is jamming or the long spring is not attached (flip the whole thing up and look at the curved side). Or, if you mean the tab that flips up on the side of the machine is staying up, then it may be jammed/bent or the return spring on the solenoid is broken. If you are not wanting to use the automatic film grabbing part of the machine, you can just remove the 4 metric bolts holding the hinges and take it off there, nothing bad will happen. Best I can do with the description you've given.

What if the tab doesn't go up? Ours goes up sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.

@@edersamano9348 If the tab doesn't go up then either it is jamming on something or something is bent, or the solenoid that pushes the tab up is not working or it's not getting power. It's complicated to check for power but easy to check if it's jamming or bent.

They operate like scissors, they have 2 blades that slide by each other.
