Morning Greg, yes my feet were definitely thanking me💯🤣. Another free 30 days and then I can extend for 30. After that I have to leave but I can come back as soon as I like but only by air for the rest of the calendar year, no more land crossings. I will be heading off for a few longer adventures. Last year I went to Cambodia for a month, Vietnam for five weeks where I went from the deep South right up to the Chinese border. Also two trips to Malaysia which were shorter. They’re all in my playlists. I shouldn’t of lost my temper with that bus driver who ignored me, it’s not like me it was a tiring last few days. They do like the colourings in the terminal. The duty free store was expensive mate. The ATM’s I suppose you could call it a scam if you were just doing a quick crossing back into Laos you wouldn’t be too happy. The papaya salad I got I dropped the ball, it’s already a very hot dish and I asked for it phet phet (more spicy). Fair to say I paid for that over the next few days🤣, it’s great to be back though.

To be honest I try and keep my personal life out of this. I don’t plan on returning but I do want to pop back and see family now and then. I was a ground worker and I’m 48. I come to Asia because I love Thailand I’ve been before and I wanted to visit more places. I’m single, I like to travel to much to have a relationship. Life’s too short and I was living to work back in the UK.

Being clean shaven is a personal thing, I don’t think anybody has the right to expect of other than to be polite. That’s my opinion and everybody should have one. Stayed in a hotel down the river when I was last here, the mosquito’s were a nightmare. The vast majority of times I pay by booking.com, I have total control via an app the tells me if somebody wants money off my card. If I don’t answer and they pay, I’m protected that’s only reason I don’t mind doing that. The cash machines were simple. They’re right there when you enter Nong Khai, I got cash straight away.

@ParkinsonRaw Even so they took an extra payment didn't they? And it seems they kept it. Anyway carry on, ignore anyone. You know best . . . Another bit of advice, which you might ignore. When you were in the backpackers hostel and unable to sleep due to the heat, l would have taken my mattress out on the balcony and slept there. The Thais would not have objected. How could they?

@PeterBren they did take extra money. There was a sign on the visa window saying times when they were out of hours you had to pay extra. The hours were ridiculous, obvious tax but there was no way around it unless you get there at the stupid times. I can’t sleep outside the mosquito’s love me. Good tip though I’ve seen people do it
