Is driving a FedEx ground straight truck hard? Today I'll be giving new Fedex drivers tips and tricks about driving a big fedex truck. Is it scary or difficult to drive a delivery truck? We'll also be talking about the fedex road test to ensure you can drive the straight truck.

Stay alert & don't expect others to see you.... Parking lots are the worst. If you see someone inside of their car, never park behind them. Pull away & park away from them. And remember, they're just packages & they'll eventually get there. The main thing is to work smart & stay safe. And remember..... We live in an era where you have to assume you're being filmed 24/7 in public.

The contractor I worked for with ground - drive one of the trucks for 15-20 minutes and safely back in a parking space and you pass the driving test haha. It was initially intimating but as I drove it more and more and got used to it - it wasn't that bad at all. Hope you're doing well!

4 years (and counting) and zero accidents, no tickets and no property damage. I have had a FEW occasions a customer tried a fake property damage con. The customers were exposed for lying. And that's me driving the big p700 bread trucks, not some mini-wheelie bitty box hybrid.

My second week driving a p1100 for FEDEX Ground. I haven’t hit any curbs, my best advice is don’t accelerate hard during turns, boxes will fly off the shelf, and use ur mirrors when turning so you can see your back tires and how close they are to curbs

Worked with FedEx ground for extra cash. Driving wasn’t a problem, it’s the condition of the trucks that was problematic. Bad alignment, random blinking lights on the dashboard, sometimes the turn signals and hazards don’t work, sometimes the horn doesn’t work, sometimes the odometer and the gas gauge don’t work. And the worse thing is breathing in the diesel fumes if the exhaust is on the drivers side.

at express, you do have to back up through those cones.. about 10 feet apart. but you have a trainer who tells you how to do it. if you can listen- you can do it. for going forward: basically there's a pivot point of the truck, which is at the back wheelwell, so when you see the cone in your side view mirror, line it up with that and then turn... as for reverse, you just wait until you see the next cone in the mirror, then turn- then as you are going the opposite direction, you look in the OTHER side view mirror, as soon as you see the cone, you turn. your trainer will show you how to do it, and tell you what to do. they want you to pass so you probably will. you can hit 2 cones i think. you also have to parellel park it using cones, but again, the trainer will show you how to do it, and explain. you also have to back in in between cones, which is also a pivot point thing. trainer will show you.

We use 2 16'rs, several 3500 ford box trucks, 4 ford transit vans, and 1 extended 4x4 cab ford truck with diablo camper shell converted with shelves.. all took experience to learn their way of use. Some vehicle's are better in the wide open country to tight lil towns and big cities.. it does take use for all but mostly important is maintain an alert mind and great focus of your spaces in front and back of the work vehicles. Some routes will teach you where to park your trucks and give confidence that you have room to maneuver safely to next stop.. always good to observe when you return back after a pkg drop to see what kind of space you have.. and also like to add that its easy to get distracted by other drivers, phone calls, texting, walkers/joggers, bikes, loose animals, and miscalculating mirrors.. be careful and make sound decisions out there!

I felt ur struggle at 5:17 trying to merge on the Highway. When I first started driving with Amazon, the first day of work they sent me to Santa Cruz, ca on the infamous highway 17. Known for accidents and windy turns, it took forever for me to merge from stop onto the highway at full speed. And this was in a sprinter van.

im not gonna lie - I almost got into an accident in my second month. I was driving along a country road, 45 mph, with traffic flowing just fine, and I didn't know that there was a traffic light coming up which commonly got jammed. This was where this certain country road began to meet up with one of the busiest boulevards in the city. This certain traffic light - as I have learned, after delivering in this are for a couple weeks now - is notorious for getting jammed up. So basically, you are driving along a 45 mph country road, then all of the sudden everyone comes to a stop. Everyone familiar with the area surely knows about this particular stop light intersection, and are prepared. I was not prepared at all, and I admit I was not paying 100% attention, when I glanced up expecting to see the few cars in front of me tooling along as usual, had slowed down rapidly to about 10-15 mph. I slammed on the brakes and gritted my teeth. The truck stopped in time, but it was close - and I did smell the brakes burning! And I also did very much piss off the driver behind me - who also had to slam on her brakes. She almost hit me, just like I almost hit the car in front of me. I am SO thankful to God that there was no accident. Long story short, you simply need to know about nuances of an area, such as this one. There are certain spots like this which can trick you, and you can wind up in an accident. Had I been *really* not paying attention, I would likely have slammed on my brakes too late and rear ended someone at at least 25 mph, and then gotten rear ended to boot.
