Laowa recently released the Nanomorph anamorphic lenses, and I have been putting it to the test for the last few months. Is this the real deal or just hype?

I really wanted to like the nanomorphs. There’s not a whole lot of options for RF if you want native mount. In the end I went for the Vazen 28 and 65mm amber flare RF. On the Nanomorphs I just couldn’t get past the flat one dimensional flares that look more like a streak filter and the god awful pin cushion distortion on those lenses. I think the mid-block anamorphic design on the nanomorphs also diminish the anamorphic character as well. The Vazens at 1.8x gave me a little more stretch / oval to the bokeh and much more complex but controllable flares as well. Just my opinion of course and hopefully a nanomorph V2 will address some of these things. Yes the Vazens are more money but I feel like the Vazens perform better than even the more expensive Atlas Orions and are well worth the bump in price over the Nanomorphs. If on a budget and don’t want to buy the Vazens or other alternatives I’d consider for the price of two of the nanomorphs you could save up just a little more and buy an Aivascope. The anamorphic characteristics, shaprness, flaring and flexibility to use with multiple lenses makes it a better alternative IMO.

Are you adding noise/grain effect to your video? It actually confused me about the quality

For how it acts, I’d say it’s been added but I can see why you might think otherwise and I don’t think using grain here is good to use especially for reviews

Sometimes the likes and views from the previous video you watched glitch onto the video your current video, I’ve even seen this happen with titles and comments too.
