If you're about to have this surgery and you're scared, don't worry! I had it last year and it's a pretty simple surgery it seems. I was fine within a couple of days and the pain was gone as soon as my surgery was complete. Be brave y'all it's not so bad ❤️

i got my appendix out two weeks ago today! if you’re watching this and about to have surgery, don’t be scared! it’s not bad at all. they let me go home as soon as i woke up from anesthesia and i was recovered within the first week.

Ppl who had appendicitis know that the worst part is after the surgery... just the pain of standing up nvm taking a shower. I litterally had to have both my hands on my scar holding it bcs every movement rips inside and its fuckin agony, the less movement the better be carefull at turning and sitting up don't use your muscles, use the bed mechanics. Watching House MD during this time helped lessen the pain in my case, try not to watch anything to funny tho bcs laughing is a pain in the -ass- stomach. Its just three to five days at most. I recommend asking the nurse for extra morphine on the first few nights bcs otherwise you're not gonna be able to sleep. The rest shouldn't be too bad just be carefull walking and take it slow.

I had mine removed two days ago , just got out of the hospital and was curious on how they did it , still hurts a bit but i'm thankful i don't have to go throu stomach pain again which is caused by the appendix !!!!!

Recovering from this surgery at the moment, it’s uncomfortable and the first two days can get painful, but as long as you have good care and can be provided good painkillers, you should be fine. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s not as scary as I imagined prior. Get well soon everyone who is going through this 😊

I got this done last week. It was an emergency appendectomy and it was pretty easy and not scary at all. The first day after surgery will be the most painful but it’ll get a lot easier afterwards. Sneezing, coughing, or laughing will hurt the most. Sometimes putting on jeans with zippers and buttons will cause a lot of pain as well. Avoid those things as much as possible and you’ll be ok. After a few days you won’t even realize it as much. Just take care of the stitches and follow the instructions you get during discharge and you’ll be more than fine.

I had mine done almost 4 weeks ago. I'm glad I was in tune with my body, because I wash a million percent sure that's what I had. Thank God I went in when I did...because it was all bad- close to rupturing. God bless everyone that goes through this, and I would never wish this on my worse enemy!

I thank God every day that I'm still here!!!!!! My appendix was removed on 12/27/19. I have at least a 15 inch scar on my stomach. I spent 3 months in t hospital & rehab. I'm so happy to still b here to see another day.

My appendix ruptured just a few hours before the surgery. The surgeon didn’t know about the rupture going into the surgery because the imaging from before the rupture looked fine. They still managed to perform the keyhole surgery but I ended up with a draining tube, a nasogastric tube and 4 more days in the hospital. It still went pretty well I think. I didn’t experience too much post surgical pain or any other problems, apart from the discomfort caused by the tubes. I’m waiting for my discharge and I’m so grateful for everything the doctors and the nurses have done for me.

To be honest, the worst part of the whole hospital stay/surgery for me was removing the tape on the IV and the tape around the incisions. That stuff is seriously adhesive, and once your stomach hair starts to grow back removing it hurts like hell. I'm one week post-op, 23 years old and have very little pain. Such a great present in time for Christmas. Lol.

Interesting I’ve had my appendix removed last year and I always wondered how they did it. Seems like a pretty solid procedure. Nothing to be scared off. Anything better than living with the pain of having an infected appendix.

My mom, grandma and aunt had this done to them when they were fairly young. They were worried I was having it too but it turned out to be something different. Still it's on my mind that it may happen to me since it seems in my case this is a genetic condition. Seeing the video helps me understand what I may have to go through.

I got my appendix taken out when I was about 14 or 15, and thank God I did. I had appendicitis to the point I was about to rupture. It was the most intense pain of my life and I was so happy for it to finally be over

Currently in recovery at hospital for this.. the anesthesia puts you out and you’ll wake up in what feels like minutes.. some pain after , but tolerable so far with the help of meds. Never had surgery so the lead up was a lil scary, but it will all be ok 👍🏽

I had this performed on me in December. I don't remember anything besides getting the anaesthesia and waking up without anymore belly pain. If anyone is scared about having it, it's not as bad as you think!

I was in grade 9 during my first week of June. I'm starting to get high fever, and my bottom right stomach is starting to hurt. The doctor told me I have appendicitis, and if I stay home, it'll get worst (saying that is because my cousin died after his appendix burst). After I arrived at the hospital, they started the appendectomy on me, and it was a success. They said that my infected appendix was big as a sausage (I didn't mean to gross anyone out). They said I have to stay for a couple of weeks and miss my final exams for high school. It's a great, but crucial recovery, but it might do. Until today, I still remember.

i had my appendectomy surgery last Tuesday dated April 18, 2017 because it raptured already with abcess on it and it's open surgery for my surgeon to clean the infected part and removed it. thank God it was successful​ and till now im still recovering from it it took me 3days and a half for me to sit properly and able to walk as well. it you have symptoms pls consult your doctor or surgeon before its too late coz its a life threatening illness.

I literally just had this procedure done Saturday (Feb 8th)....The pain I had Friday afternoon which led me to the ER was horrible, I could barely walk! Glad it’s over tho! I’m now home healing and resting!

Just had my surgery about 4 days ago. Im glad I went to the doctor to see what was wrong with me when I did, cause if I would’ve waited a day or two longer they said mine would’ve ruptured. If you ever have any pain in that area, don’t hesitate to go see a doctor! It doesn’t take long for the appendix to rupture!

Im currently dealing with this. The pain started last night and I had worked out prior to the pain starting. I was thinking I might have just been constipated since I tend to have trouble going the restroom. I’m 25 years old and reading these comments make me feel more comfortable on getting the surgery done cause the pain is unbearable. I thought after all the morphine, IV fluids and antibiotics I would feel better but I woke up and feel the same if not slightly worse. I am set on getting it removed before any ruptures or any other complications. Appreciate all your guy’s comments and experiences. If you’re reading this and your stomach is in great pain, to get it checked out right away. I am stubborn but even this pain was something my body wasn’t prepared for.

Private system for appendectomy if you can. I waited in absolute agony for a transfer to another hospital for the surgery and a further 12 hours for the actual surgery. All the straining and tensing of muscles has left me in agony after my recovery as my whole back and stomach muscles are torn.

I have this behind me. Thank God for the surgeon, which made me fit. Do not underestimate this.

i got mine out about a year ago and it was so scary, but thank god I'm ok now. My ruptured on the super bowl, the stomach bug was going around that time so i though it was that. I went to the doctor and they said i had the stomach bug. The next day i was in the hospital and was pretty scary.

Yes finally at home recovering after a week and a half in the hospital after emergency surgery because my appendix was perforated as the doctor said one of the worst he has seen!! In the middle of surgery my appendix burst. So happy to be at home recovering now after the long stent in the hospital.

My appendix was gangrenous and had perforated by the time they got to it. It had been about 6 days since my symptoms had started as I was initially dismissed by my gp. In fact I think my appendix had initially been inflamed for months. Always get things checked out, and push for further investigations! I had to stay in hospital for several days after, and the recovery process has not been fun. It makes all the difference whether your appendix is burst or not. I had so much pain after as it was left quite late before they removed it.

Woke up in the middle of the night about 2:30 a.m. last night with severe lower right abdominal pain. The pain got worse and worse as it started off Sharp and then it felt like hot water was being released into my abdomen. I drove myself to the ER and they did a CT scan and found out I had a ruptured appendix. 1 hour later I was in surgery and 2 hours after I woke up from anesthesia they released me to go home. It's nothing to be scared about the worst part was the pain before the surgery. The pain meds hardly touched it. I'm just glad I'm home and recovering. Please don't be scared you were under anesthesia the whole time you don't feel a thing. Much love

Just had this surgery few hours ago. Doesn’t hurt too bad just hard making movements and laughing or coughing. Don’t be scared if you’re about to! It’s not that bad, just feels like you’re sleeping.

The thing is I had no prior pain until the day of the surgery I had my best friend over spending the night and we were eating Papa Johns I felt the sharp pain in my back? (Yeah my back) and I went to go lay down for a bit because every now and then I get a cramp in my back. It just got progressively worse to till the point I was hunched in pain. My friend had to go home because my aunt (a nurse) decided to take me to the hospital. By then I was starting to throw up my dinner I couldn't keep anything in I had to wait 6 hours before I could get any sort of pain killers. They put my surgery for tomorrow because the scan came back showing my appendix was super infected and on the verge of rupturing. My surgery was scheduled on tomorrow afternoon since it was 11:30 at night. They had to basically knock me out on Morphine. After my surgery was gone I still felt intense pain I couldn't walk for 4 days. I was 13 at the time and I haven't been in the hospital ever since I was a new born. But I remember seing my nephew, my family all there concerned about me. I told myself keep your family tight they always will support you. This was 3 years ago today (10-17)

This is what happened,omg,when I figured out I had a infected appendix,my mom was crying and worried about me,I was crying so much.My grandparents came and said."your gonna be fine,promise",that made me cry even harder.we called my cousins and said are you okay,I kept on anwsering I'm fine then they would say no your not.If you are reading when,after, or before the surgery,be strong, because I got it done while I was 10,I was hurting but not hurting enough that I can't be strong,I would hug a teddy bear when I got up cause it hurt a lot,And my mom had to bath me because I wasn't aloud to get the wond wet.stay strong out there guys.really strong😘😷😷😷😷
