I just want to say thank you so much for this video! I'm 16 and going for laparoscopic surgery soon and this helped me so much and made me feel much more prepared and calm. Watching your journey has also been so helpful to know and understand better what's really happening as well as know someone else who has felt the same as I do. Re: surgery duration, yours may have been 45 mins but surgery times vary and very complex cases operated by endo specialists can take up to 5 hours. An endo specialist trained in finding endo lesions can spend hours finding and excising lesions especially in complex or stage 4 cases.

Im surprised she had stage 4 yet only had a 45 min surgery. I had stage 3 and was in surgery for 3.5 hours

@@ivysmamacheprecisely, I have stage 4 and they told me after my surgery that they weren’t even able to remove it all, only address the most pressing concerns. My surgery was 4 hours and my DR said the longer the surgery the more risks of complications you run so he had to make the call to do his best with that first surgery and leave the rest. However my surgeon is a specialist and despite this i had a great recovery and have not had more pain following the surgery although i know i will need one in the future.

Took nine years of me battling doctors…and I hear nine years is the typical time it takes to get proper help. I am one week out of surgery. Shoulder pain in the left shoulder was a horror. I wanted to stand on my head to get those air bubbles to go the other way. What a mess!

I was not given any meds besides Tylenol and it’s all I needed really. I took the charcoal as well and that helped a lot with the left over gas bubbles. Also…agree with the food! Have some pre made meals ready to pop in the oven. I had a friend bring a meal and my spouse grabbed food too but sometimes I just wanted my comfort foods. Have them ready.

I have a cyst that's over 2.4 inches and i have another ultrasound in december to see if its getting bigger. I hope I can get surgery in january because I honestly don't think it will get smaller, I've been dealings with pain for years. They keep tryna get me on birth control but I don't want that in my body.

You may have videos about this already, but if you didn't have much pain from endometriosis how did you suspect you have it? Helpful video by the way!

I can only urge those of you who don’t want children to _please_ think about having a hysterectomy (total or otherwise)…this may sound terribly downbeat but the constant surgeries are hugely draining. I’ve been there, ladies; endometriosis was a blight on my life from around age 14 (I’m 51 now). I completed my family in 2002 and finally had my hysterectomy (they left my ovaries, argh, having awful hot flushes still, but only on occasion) in 2009. Endometriosis gone. I understand the younger viewers won’t want this option but as soon as your family is complete…go for the hysterectomy! Best of luck my lovelies, I (literally) feel your pain!! Be well 🥰

The surgeon you choose is also very important. Many surgeons especially if they are not endo laparoscopy specialists do not actually remove all of the endo (it is a very specialized skill to find it) and that’s why the surgeries never end - they never fully treat it. Many surgeons also do not know how to excise inside of the uterus so they leave adenomyosis inside the uterus which continues to cause pain and issues. Finding a surgeon who removes all of the endo and can address adenomyosis without hysterectomy is possible for those who are still young.

@@mamunaagyeiwaa6070 please do not listen to random people on yt who tell you you do or do not need surgery. Only an endo specialist surgeon who has at least done an ultrasound and bloodwork can definitely say if you do or dont need it. I went to gynecologists and gynecological fertility surgeons - none were as knowledgeable and helpful as a dedicated endometriosis specialist. I wish you well.
