When I first saw this on KZfaq i could see it was something special. A great layout really showing what you can do in n gauge, and Can see the love and attention to detail you’ve put in to this. Completely get what you mean about done and moving on, as I’ve done similar with mine (though I did need the garage space back!). Had no idea you’ve done moors view too which I’ve seen several times and equally as good! I’ll be starting something new myself later this year, wish you all the best with what comes next! Nick here. 😉 I’ve thought long and hard about this decision and although I could probably find a new home in the house for it, if I’m honest I’d actually rather sell it and start one of the two projects I’ve been planning for a while instead. So I think it’s time to take the plunge and see if anyone fancies taking it on? If anybody is genuinely interested then please do get in touch with me via the email address I’ve posted in the video and maybe we can arrange for you to come to Exeter and have a go at operating the layout. Absolutely STUNNING layout! Great things really do come in small packages. You've obviously put your heart and soul into this one. I imagine many will want it, but I also imagine you will miss it very much. I would suggest that if you can find some way of keeping it, you should. I think you'll regret getting rid of it.

What a pity you're selling but I do admire that you emphasise it should go to a good home! And indeed it will be the beginning of a new project as well as Lapford continuing it's life elsewhere. Win win I'd say!

Sorry to hear you are selling Lapford Nick, it's been a pleasure watching your videos and the beautiful layout & stock. Saying that, i understand entirely where you are coming from and please document the new build for us to see !! I'd love to buy the layout from you but I need to keep my priorities on getting my OO Gauge shed layout built. Wishing you all the best with the new project.......Andy

Moors View is my best friend Paul’s railway so I didn’t build that one. I’ve done some bits on it like the trees and the farmhouse for instance, but it’s very much his baby. A small group of us operate it shows though and it is fantastic in my humble opinion.

What a fantastic layout , absolute realism and hard to tell what the gauge was but my assumption was OO.

Thank you. 👍 Yep it’s definitely N gauge. 😉 I think that’s the nice thing about the scale - you can afford to incorporate a decent amount of scenery in and allow the trains to run through it, which is one of the main reasons I now model in N gauge.

Hi Nick. I’ve long been an admirer of your beautiful layout. I would have been interested in taking it on but I’m about 3’ short of space😬. I wish you well in the future project and hope you get a decent price for Lapford. I have no doubt it’ll go to a new home soon.

Thanks Phil. Yes hopefully someone will like it enough to give it a home. I’d like to think that it’s been made well enough that it’s got plenty of years left to be used!

Yes that’s right. It was the first time I properly went into N gauge having dipped my toe in the water a couple of times before. What swung it for me was seeing my friend George’s Dapol 33. I just had to get one basically! I originally planned on doing a model of Seaton Junction as a disused station set in the 1980s until Paul (Moors View) suggested I might like to practice on something a smaller… He was right of course but don’t tell him. 😉

Update time. It looks like the railway has a very good new home! A bit busy today but I’ll explain properly in the next couple of days. Also though, thank you so much for your kind comments on here and via email. It’s just been really nice and it’s actually made all this a lot easier in a way.
