@@montyjunior3 Hi Evan. I really don't know exactly what reels they are using but it's all #6 equipment. And, as you say, we need a lot of backing for these strong fish for sure. So any reel which can take over 100 meters backing and has a good drag system will do fine :) Cheers

The beauty of your fishing spots. The respect you have for the fish. The music and your relaxed behavior. The dram of scotch with your good friend. These all make we feel like I am back in my fishing territory. Many thanks!!! I do have a question, perhaps because of my Canadian fishing culture: Normally my partner and I would carry a canoe in to the remote lakes we fish. Have you considered this? Perhaps it is too far? Again thanks, your videos keep my fisherman’s heart beating while I wait for trout season to open. Cheers!
@CarpeDiemFlyfishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Albert. Glad you enjoyed the video :) We actually prefer fishing from the shore. Don't know why. Of course you will be able to reach a lot more fish in a canoe but it's not that important. If the fish are far from the shore we normally take a break, have a coffee and a whisky, and wait for them to get closer. Part of the whole thing so to speak. Cheers

Nice fishing, nice video guys. But you need to change something. On a take you strike to early. Don't strike the moment the fish takes, give them time to go under water again. Give them let's say 2 seconds. And with the fish you catch there you need a bigger landingnet 😃. Left a subscription, I'd like to see more. Greetings from the Čech Republic 🇨🇿

I think they used mainly caddis. Both "regular" and emergers. Typically cdc & elk, elkhair caddis and streaking caddis. But if I was you I would try to identify what insects are hatching at the place you are actually fishing. Could be quite different in Iceland you know. Cheers and tight lines
