When you wished your sister Happy Birthday and told her you loved her it made me want to cry. It just made me so emotional. My sister came out to me as trans not to long ago and it breaks my heart to see her struggle and watch how our family doesn’t accept her. I grew up in a conservative Catholic household and very much stereotypical machismo and when my sister first came out as gay that was hard but then when they came out as trans my mom told me in private “the gay thing is one thing but this is too much” my sister been through a lot and the rejection made her fall Iill and she’s barely now recovering. I show her as much love and support as I can, but it makes me sad to see how my family and our community seems so reluctant and not accepting. So I just wanted to say thank you for supporting your sister and showing your love publicly because representation matters and visibility matters! Our siblings are still our siblings no matter what!
