The Lapmaster LBVS250 machine is a versatile floor mounted machine ideally suited for workshops and laboratories. It comes fully equipped, ready to use and is suitable for lapping components from 100mm diameter up to 250mm diameter.
The machine is equipped with an adjustable lapping arm unit. A cam unit allows the Arm to sweep up & down, ensuring an even and complete lap over the ball valve face.
There is a self-contained adjustable flow compound system is mounted on the side of the machine.
The machine controls are housed in a separate box mounted to the side of the guard. A smaller control box at the front allows for quick starts and batch production efficiency. The lapping operation is controlled by an adjustable timer, which automatically stops the machine at the end of the cycle.
Machine Detail
The ball is held horizontally by a headstock drive arrangement and is rotated via a variable speed motor on the headstock.
The seals are held securely via mechanical clamps and are driven by variable speed motors. The motor arrangement is held by pneumatic cylinders that can apply adjustable pressures to the seals as they are lapping against the ball. Both seal assemblies slowly 'rock' to and fro, preventing tram lines on the ball and help maintain sphericalness. The seal assemblies can retract to aid ball loading and unloading.
The machine features a simple control system including variable speed drives and digital process timer. Each of the 3 drive axis can be operated either independently or simultaneously (PLC optional). A syringe pump mounted to the side of the machine controls the flow of Lapping compound needed for the process. Capable of taking syringes up to 60cc, the pump can dispense precise amounts at defined intervals.

SAFETY FEATURES

• The Safety System is to comprise of three Emergency Stop Pushbuttons and three Guard switches which will be wired into a dual channel safety relay. This will remove all motive power from the machine (i.e. Category 3 according to EN954-1).
