1992 Barcelona Olympics 10,000 m final. With just 1,200 m to go (3 laps left), two athletes, Kenya’s Richard Chelimo and Moroccan Khalid Skah were far clear of the field and battling for the gold medal.
Upon lapping another Moroccan athlete, Hammou Boutayeb. Instead of moving aside and letting them pass he continued to pace with the leaders and twice pass them. The crowd and the officials initially interpreted it as unsportsmanlike and one Swedish judge even attempted to block Boutayeb while he was still running.
