This video shows the lapping zone and lapping length in column. Overlapping of reinforcement in Rcc structures is required due to the limit of the steel bar length, so how much should be the overlapping length be provided so that steel have the good bond, for that we choose lapping length which should be according to the standard codes, and we should lap our column reinforcement where there is no critical section. You should study rrc book. You can find RCC lectures on KZfaq. In RCC you will know how to design different structural components. And for construction process study concrete technology.

RIGHT BUT 48d IS NOT A CONSTANT VALUE . DEPENDING UPON THE GRADE OF STEEL AND GRADE OF CONCRETE THE LAPPING LENGTH GETS VARIES. KINDLY REFER IS 456 - 2000 ...CLAUSE 26.2.1
