See what's possible DJing with just a laptop! Using Serato Play and Serato DJ Pro, I perform a short routine and annotate everything so you can easily understand what's happening. DJing with just your laptop isn't hard, and it's great to know how to DJ this way.

This is so cool. Much better than when I was a teenager, and opening multiple instances of Winamp and using the volume controls to "cross-fade". lol I was actually pretty good at it though, adding echos and other effects via plugins. RIP Winamp.

I've been using virtual dj for years with my laptop because Im not really into the lime light and I just like learning production .But it's great serato looked after there customers.

This is great - the less gear you need, the more free you are to create! I'm going to double check the kind of keystroke control i have in Traktor or Rekordbox.

Thanks Phil and Serato, I've always wanted to just be able to play around on my Mac like this. This is perfect and I just had a go, so much fun. Rekordbox doesn't seem to be as well designed for laptop play as Serato is.

I DJ with just my laptop and speakers. Got the software and all my music saved in, so I plug connect and keep the party going for 6, 8 hours

Fun set, Phil! Sweet transitions at 6:02 & 7:28!! Did the sudden/auto tempo change at 9:44 (lining up hotcue) happen because of the settings we did in video 2??

Thanks for this. However, when I have my CAPS on I can use these functions. When my Caps are off it doesn’t do anything. Is this something I can fix in my settings?

There's not much to say about nudge, it is what is sounds like - a feature that allows you to make small "nudges" to get tracks in time. No it isn't unfortunately

No. you can use a splitter cable for that. That said, for practising mixes, absolutely I am doing away with it!

That's completely separate to this video Raymond, you'd need a compatible controller and the full software

I Aready have Serato on my laptop to play on my Numark system.. Will this conflict with it at all if i put this one the laptop at the same time.. and will i be able to use them seperate . Thankyou

Using Serato Play with a headphone and output to system requires a splitter. Does it require a specific type of splitter. I have one with one male and two females but I am not getting a separation of system separate from the cue?

Yes a "DJ splitter" or "mono splitter"

This is ace. The third video makes it all clear. The loops are a good trick to bring in the next track. I've been trying to beat match and finding it quite hard. I need more practice. If you have any tips using the keyboard please let me know. I'm hopefully going to do a live set on Microsoft Teams soon. Cheers

DDJ-200 is actually quite bad. You would be getting the most bang for your buck if you get yourself either a DDJ-400 or a DDJ-SB3, to be your first controller. I actually just bought a 400 and started learning.
