do you have any advice for a screen with better color gamut ? lets say 70-80% sRGB color gamut atleast (higher is even more better) , IPS 1080p , i dont mind if its 60hz only , currently i had 7567 with B156HAN06.3 (AUO63ED) after 4 year use , it's strated to showing old age symptoms with dead pixel strips on the screen , so thinking about replacing it .

Hi! I wish I did. The website I bought this from gives you a screen with a "high colour gamut". To be fair it looks really good...nice angles and stuff, but I am not sure about what srgb percentage it has.

Just got this same screen and colours and contrast seems off. Do you recommend a specific driver or profile for this screen? Also, did you have any issue with the bottom clips where they would cause a wave like effect on the screen? I’ve currently got them not clicked in properly so this doesn’t happen. It’s like a cable is pinching or something

Hello! For the colours, I opened the windows calibration tool to adjust to your needs. For the waving effect, I had it. What I did was I used my nail to pull the plastic frame from the screen to release some pressure. I did all that while the plastic frame was "clicked" in.

@@diyguy6529 windows calibration tool was incredible. Have used on my other computers and it has changed thing so much fir the better, thank you. As for the waves, I’ve got every clip in right now, except the one to the left of the dell logo, which isn’t too bad. Unnoticeable unless you look close. Perhaps a 1-2mm gap between bezel and screen. Makes me think it’s a cable or something bunched up? With what you’re saying (to clip it in the use finger nail to pry the plastic away a little, is the goal here to make it so the plastic is bent/moulded away from the screen in that area?

@@diyguy6529 can see Even on your video that there’s a lot of cables to the the left side of the dell logo (about 1- 3cm) behind the bezel. Looks like a case of trial and error, only problem being that this snap-on clips feel like they will completely snap at any moment! Thanks again for video and replies

@@acengland82 Yes, that is the goal. The pressure from the plastic causes that wave. Also it does seem like trial and error, but you will get it right just needs patience.

Do you have to disconnect the battery first?

If I stand corrected that screed is 16.5 inches, I have the exact computer could you use a universal 30 pin 16.5 inch no touch laptop screen
@calebbeu87163 жыл бұрын
Correction 15.6 inch
@diyguy65293 жыл бұрын
For the screen, yes 15.6 inches. The company I bought the screen from (laptop screens) have different brands of 30 pin screens. My OEM laptop was a TN panel and I replaced that with a Samsung IPS screen. So from my experience, as long as the screen connector is 30 pin, it should work. I tried a 120Hz panel and it was stuck on max brightness, so be aware of that. Then there is the task of lining up your mounting holes if the new screens one is off.

You can see the model number at 3:12 on the video (upside down). It’s the Innolus N165HGEXXXXXXXX (something like that)

It is a very good video but I feel like missing something because it has no audio!!! You may say that everything is pretty obvious and that you add text annotations when needed, but in the last part, it is confusing, at least for me, I thought you already finished with the screen and then you were changing the battery or what? or it's part of the screen replacement? That was confusing. Anyway thanks, it's my first video on this and it was still very useful for a newby.
