Please post the part where you actually replace the USB ports! This video is entitled "laptop usb port replacement," but you do not show any replacement. The title should be "Laptop USB port removal."

Sam Chaney He does replace them. The end of the video is him re-soldering the new ports into the board.

XCowboyXUPX So he does. you are correct and I was mistaken. However, it would be nice if it showed him placing them on the board snowing the pins and where they go.

The way they are oriented, they get placed on the underside. He could have been a little more clear though.

Get rid of the Compressor noise in the background and tell us what your doing!!!

He is using flux , than picking up solder so it cleans up usb pins than he uses hot air gun (wrongly) he is not protecting parts around the usb ports from heating damage, than he removes the ports , clean everything again. Than he is using 0,46mm solder 60/40 (prooly) to solder new pins.

Question: Why don't you use a desoldering iron first instead of a heat gun? Are you not worried about over heating the board?

AHMADz, how much would it cost to replace a USB port on a HP Pavilion notebook:laptop 2012 year model? I have no tech skills so I know I'm looking at parts and labor cost but I just wanted to get a professional's estimate.

Probably just a soldering wick, a soldering iron, a desoldering iron and a replacement usb port

It's called FLUX -- makes the solder easy to melt..

Una pistola de calor, un cautín tipo lápiz, estaño, flux líquido y una malla de cobre para desoldar. Suerte!
