It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. Lara wrote the lyrics on this old classic music composition Agagio in English and in Italian. I like more the Italian version .The Italian language is a more colored language . Lara speaks 4 languages fluent, French, English, Italian and Spanish That is way Lara writes often lyrics in 2 or 3 of this languages on her own compositions of other compositions she sings, performs and records ....

laraa my queeen :) Lara is a diva. This recording is from 24 years ago, and the American music industry lost a lot because of what they did to her at that time. She is 54 years old now, but Lara's voice is still as fresh. I listened to it at a live concert in Istanbul 3 months ago and it still has the same great sound. She doesn't just sing, she writes, composes and makes the song come alive while singing. That's why I think Celine is a much superior artist than Dion.

One reason you may not know her is what the internet describes as a near feud between her and the artist you compared her too a lot in this review. In 1988, that artist won the Eurovision talent show and Lara finished 4th. (What happened to second and third?)
