The error here is at the end, it says the power of the larger shredder is 30kw (this is merely the plated motor rating), this is more likely the output torque on the motor shaft but given that these machines have some extremely high gear ratio the output torque on the work end is significantly greater. Assuming this is a standard 4 pole motor approx 1500rpm and we are looking at about 15rpm on the work end we have a gear ratio of 100/1 so we would be seeing 3000Kw of available power. I have kept it simple here just to make a point by rounding off the figures, assuming 100% efficiency etc and also to convert it into Newton meters per second the final answer is roughly 3,000,000 Newton Meters per second, this is why these things are very effective at what they do, the only way to stop them is to exceed this figure which will trigger a load sensor and the machine with either stop or try to reverse and alternate until it has been successful. The re-bar was predictably going to offer a problem on a smaller unit but I have seen larger versions crush car engine blocks.
