The most succesful music is the group of "Pop" music, even though it varies from country to country what that actually means. Singers/Groups liks Adele, OneDirection, BTS, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift and so on outplay and outsell rap every year. Yes Hip-Hop is a very popular and highly succesful music-genre and its definetly not "unimportant", but it's not the most succesful. (There is also a geographical spin on a lot of genres, don't know where you got that from)

But it’s definitely not more successful than hip/hop rap. These rap artists and concerts and other media generate the majority of the money made by songs worldwide. Not pop, it’s rap. You don’t even hear pop music unless it’s coming from the radio or a TV commercial. Rap is everywhere. What I said before still stands. No other genre of music has as many subcategories as rap does. It’s in quite literally every country, even far out European ones that you wouldn’t even expect to like that music. The same can’t be said for pop.

They ended up only paying him 250k thanks to Adin's security guard pressing him. The money was actually Eddie's, owner of Kick. In college I worked at an arena doing stages, sound work, and electrical stuff for shows. Had the opportunity to interact with a lot of cool people. Playboi Carti was the absolute worse. Show started late because he was paranoid people would be taking photos of him leaving his trailer. Same story with him leaving his dressing room and we could not leave until we put equipment back in the warehouse his bus was blocking. When he was going between bus and dressing room all workers had to go into our storage room so that nobody could look at him. Most of those artists come from a hustling background and keep hustling even when they already rich. Happened to someone I know who hired an A list rapper a decade ago for his party (he white guy rich) and paid like 250k for an hour of the guys time and paid for their travel and stay as well. Rapper came and did 1 song and was about to leave until rich friend said do that and he'll sue lol. When you hire these people for shows you need a contract outlining things or else you gonna get screwed
