That sounds like a good idea. It would make a lot more sense to band together to not only exchange ideas but also technical equipment and balance out funding.

You might want to look a little deeper as to how those organizations operate. Cost per removal? Who sponsors them? Transparency etc. We all need to find a way to stop trash at its source.

The fishing industry should be made to pay for clean-up of all these lost nets. Tax them, fine them, arrest them if necessary.

Uh, yeah. Our oceans aren't "free" of plastics so we can't keep them clear. They're fouled and full of plastics and other pollution, and 90% overfished.

Thank you so much! This is amazing how much you were able to remove. It's very sad that it was in there in the first place and killed so many animals, but you prevented many more marine animals from dying by taking the nets out of the ocean again. ^^

Thank you very much. I'm a truck driver and I drive a lot in New Jersey the Garbage state. I can't believe how much trash is alongside the highway and in the woods in that state. I have pulled over in multiple places, places by Rivers. I wish there was something we could do to clean that state so it doesn't go in the ocean. It needs to sart there, on land. Thank you again. I little clean up as well but nothing compared to that, thank you.

Brilliant effort. Thanks! I have been working on system using Recycling Technologies(England) processor mounted on barges or catamaran platform, using drones and manned gatherers to bring the plastic to the processor at sea, which converts it all back to oil in different states, all saleable, thus offsetting cost of clean up.

That sounds great Jay! Microwave, pyrolysis and some of the other plastic to fuel technologies have really come a long way in the past decade and you are correct that fuel becomes an issue, especially the more cleanup vessels you have and the larger they are!
