Күн бұрынOn Sunday June 9th following the 2024 Local Motion Surf into Summer presented by AVVA the largest swell the South Shore of Oahu has seen since the new year began to fill in and peak at 4.1ft 17 seconds out of the South at 190 degrees creating the perfect conditions for this years WQS competitors and Pro Surfers from around Oahu to partake in a barrel fest in town.

The guy in the brown tshirt was absoulutely ripping. I was in waikiki for the 2 weeks leading up to this and can confirm that everywhere on the Southside was firing. Mahalo for this footage from Australia🤙🤙🤙

4.1 ft? I dont understand. Thats more like 12 ft.

4.1ft 17s is the size and interval of the open ocean swell. When that swell reaches the shore, or in this case the reef the water becomes more shallow and the energy of the wave rises up and folds over itself and comes crashing down. There are many factors to how big the wave will actually be when it crashes. Such as swell, swell direction, wind, tide and the shape of the sea floor.
