this cavatina (often mistakenly called an aria) is from Act 1 of Gioachino Rossini's comic opera The Barber of Seville (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) and introduces the character of Figaro, the very busy do-anything barber. Also included is the first part of the recitative that follows (up until when the Count speaks.)
I sang this before but I thought I could improve on my prior attempt, so here it is again. Cool fact, my vocal type is contralto profondo and this song falls very nicely into my tessitura! Woo hoo I love songs that hang out in my comfortable pitch range! That said I am an amateur with no training and am just doing this for fun so if you're looking for a pro-quality performance you should probably bail right now!
This is part of my project to sing all of The Barber of Seville by myself. You can check out the rest here: • The Barber of Seville
