Larko excellent enthusiasm very infectious, we cant wait for the back to the Future Gen 3 real deal V8 cars to return...and its a VH 05 banger not a VK (3.15s) thanks for the memory slides though. I think what is important with GEN3 is it not all about the engineer winning the race, now more so the drivers - and they will be a handful to drive and watch. Cheers.

I guess I'll be called a puritan but... to me, the simple fact that we've gone back to using Seppo cars completely defies it being a truly Aussie series. Yes, I know our domestic production has ceased and we need to evolve but.. let's face it, the international era provided the best racing... if we are going to evolve to show a truly competitive series, why are we focusing on just American muscle when there are so many options available just like our national vehicle sales? The coming generation of racing looks awfully myopic to me.

Improved production still exists, if you want to watch different cars fight. In a top level series parity is first priority, which evolved many series to utilize similar chassis. If they don't do this, they will turn into GT3 and use BOP. You decide which is better of the two.

larko can you please help answer this question? I noticed the new GEN FORD that was tested at the track in Bathurst, was in fact MACH 1, I know this because i have one in JET fighter grey. Everybody is calling the new Gen 3 supercar a Mustang GT Gen 3, when in fact the one that went around the track you promoted was a MACH 1 ( very cool BTW!) You cant buy anymore MACH1’s because they were sold to Australia in limited numbers. So my question is, will it be a MACH1 Gen3 for super cars or the GT’s GEN 3. I am stoked if either just wondering why the reporters have it so wrong., The dead set, give away is the grille and the emblem on the dash!

Tin top racing in SA fell apart when their was no relevance with what was available in showrooms, yes the drivers continued to have fun in their race cars, but the public withdrew from circuits, sponsors withdrew and eventually it all fell apart. Aussie Supercars is a wonderful series, but the future does look daunting. Ford will have a vested sales interest as they still relevant- but Camaro 🤔 Holden - probably better off with Toyota’s, and possibly Nissans

Stormin Norman in the Monaro was the fastest GM car around 1970, Pete Geoghans Mustang because of Pete’s ( Ian) talent , Moffat & Norm Beechey were the big draw cards ( I always regarded Jane as the 2nd tier). No drivers standards observers, . They were great days , short races on the limit. Lots of paint sharing . Watching them go through Peters Corner on the 1st lap was always fun. Not looking through rose coloured glasses it just was.

On the other hand, I think this will be a change for the better.
