Thank you so much for this I’m learning about Larry Clark in my art class this semester and wanted to find out about this book. Couldn’t believe he faced jail time for it.

Glad that the video was so helpful for you! My hope for the channel is to broaden the exposure these photobooks get, especially to curious people looking for more answers and info.

Found this book at a sidewalk sale in sf about 25 years ago... Although not an original copy but for 5 bucks what do u expect... Terrific photos

What a great find. I think the days of finding a bargain or a diamond in the rough are waning. Bookstores now know what they have and the internet really equalized prices. Thanks for watching!

Diane Arbus was shooting subculture pics before Clark and Goldin.
@ThePhotobookReview3 жыл бұрын
That's a great point. I think theres some distinctions between the way Arbus photographs sub cultures compared to Clark and Goldin. Arbus seems less investigative and more gestural. something all three of those photographers are trying to communicate is "you need to look at this..." I had not considered the similarities between the work of Arbus and Clark, so thank you!

These series of photos really reminds me of the film trainspotting, if you haven’t seen it I can highly recommend it. Follows a group of heroin addicts in Glasgow
@ThePhotobookReview2 жыл бұрын
I've heard about that movie for years and knew it was one of Danny Boyle's first movies, but I'll need to actually watch it soon.
@JoshWilliams-iq6pb10 ай бұрын
Trainspotting is a diet soft drink. Tulsa is rot gut whiskey. Irving Welsh and Danny Boyle made a situation comedy out of heroin use. Larry Clark puts you in a heart of darkness. Pale comparison.

Would you consider reading some supreme photobooks?
@ThePhotobookReview Жыл бұрын
I think I would. I'm. not very familiar with Supreme though, where would you suggest I start?

teenage lust would be a good review

I think so too. I was flagged for posting the video on Nan Goldin's Ballad of Sexual Dependency though, so I think they might flag again for the photographs in Teenage Lust.
