Seeing a top fuel was on my bucket list and was planned this summer but plans changed. Sill i got to see Daniel Mercier in Napierville PQ for a demo pass. Ohhh man now i really want to go see a day of this. Too bad Canada banned them we had a great track in St Pie QC Sanair but now down to nothing with only small events. John Force won his first one there wish they still did race up here. This must be hell of a ride !!!

I wonder if it is slightly detuned to reduce the chance of the engine letting go during a pass..

Assuming this is eighth mile, normal top fuel cars run around 3.1 at 283 and this car did 3.47 at 242 so it's probably about 30% less power and 200 pounds more than a normal fuel car

They put the Honda Civic motor in it when they double up.

@@Mrshotshell You're pretty close. The cars weight though, is much heavier than you think. The car is nearly 6 feet longer, requiring additional reinforcements for safety, not to mention the weight of the passenger. Also, you can't really de-tune the engine much as the clutch wont work properly. From what I can tell, I think this car is pretty close to full on.

AWESOME! Why can’t a large theme park make this a ride? Use a hydraulic track and then pump in fake engine noise. Similar to a catapult on an aircraft carrier.

I believe Cedar Point in Ohio had a ride kind of like that. I'm fairly confident that people will tell you it's not like the real thing.

Yes. In my opinion they didn't treat Larry with the respect he deserves. He is a Champion. The art of drag racing and hot rodding is all about experimentation and innovation.
