A tribute to one of my favourite comedians of all time.
I have fond memories watching Larry on TV with my late grandmother when I was little, never swore once but yet I'd be in howls of laughter at his excellent timing & his humour was second to none.
DISCLAIMER............. I do not own the rights to this show that was broadcast on TV here in the UK, I do not own the copyright to this show also.

A genuinely nice guy. No arrogance, no pretence and he didn't need to be vulgar or swear just to get a laugh. Comedians like Larry Grayson are but a distant memory when life seemed simpler and happier. Making people laugh is hard, making people laugh with just a look was harder still. But he managed it.

What came across was what a humble, sincere and nice man Larry Grayson was. I was moved to tears in parts. I thought his and indeed his adopted sister's devotion to him, was very touching. Although he was devoted to Nuneaton, I do recall that a nasty (Conservative) counsellor, commented, after Grayson's death, that Nuneaton did not want anything to do with his sort when there was discussion of some sort of memorial. Whilst he died relatively young, he remains fondly remembered and despite his camp persona, I think the gay community accepts him for who he was and no longer sees him as an uncomfortable stereotype (because he was not playing a part). Thank you for posting this interesting and informative documentary.

One thing I love about Britian is the wonderfully eccentric characters we produce, such as Larry who I remember fondly from my childhood. I enjoy the Carry On films, not because the scripts are particularly hilarious,it's more due to the wonderful comic actors that deliver these lines. There is nothing funny about "Shut that door" unless one man is saying it,and that man is Larry Grasyon.☺️
