I have a great respect for Larry. Nevertheless, I strongly disagree with his view on this one.

The number of Day traders who can make a decent living is 1 in 400 , not my opinion its the number from a very experienced trading coach from England.

Perfect explanation! To me day traders are dumb people who contribute to create inefficiencies in the market and put money into smart people pockets. How are you supposed to make money by doing scalping and day trading if you have to pay fees and commissions everytime you open and close a position? How are you supposed to make money if you constantly have your mind overwhelmed by emotions and volatility management? Scalping and day trading is for impatient people who believe to be smarter than everybody else and make fast money, but in reality the money they lose because of their brutal arrogance goes into the pocket of more humble and smarter long-term traders and investors

Didnt Jim Simons make money with day trading programs?
@magdieljuma7 күн бұрын
It’s not comparable, but also Simons would agree; he backtested models with years of data, you can consider that long-term

he had a pool of strategies, not only “day-trading” I would assume he had a portfolio of strategies in different timeframes; from high-frequency to swing. Of course there are traders making a living trading a single asset manually, if they backtested their strategy and stick to the rules it could work, but even in that case; they check higher timeframes to get a bigger picture of the market, maybe they are not wired to open a trade that last 2+ days or few weeks.

@@RonCadillac They are interviewing SMB Capital 7 and 8 figure traders and more than a dozen. Larry's not finding the break out stocks. Watch all the interviews on The Humbled Trader. All 8 figure traders. They are not trading SPX. This isn't a controversial subject. It's either objectively true or not. He puts up a chart of a flat chart that none of the big traders are trading. Tom Hougaard another 8 figure trader. Trade's live. No go look at Larry's projection for 2023 that he sold customers and the one that he posted after the act. I have his reports. You obviously haven't researched the subject for yourself nor been following Larry's recent track record nor the controversy that followed him in the '70's where he traded two accounts during the Robbins cup and was exposed for it. It's public record for any motivated individual that looks it up.
