Their voices were the loudest that something was wrong and happened to those kids. What a nightmare. The daybells should have just pled guilty and spared the families and really this whole world from the horror and evilness of their crimes. I can’t even begin to imagine what the families, first responders/police/support went through with this case, finding those kids, connecting the dots and unraveling this sick sad selfish tragedy. This case will haunt everyone for the rest of their lives. I couldn’t get through the memorial service , it was so heartbreaking and all this death and harm so unnecessary

They had one really good day at the beginning of the trial (like day 3?) and ever since it’s been a spiral downward. Emma lost all credibility by saying she googled the wind, not her dad 🤦🏻‍♀️ (sure ya did!) Garth lost his before he sat down because he kept changing his story and also said that detectives were trying to force him into lying 😂 (yeah sure dude, I’m fairly certain they just pointed out that h kept changing his story and that they didn’t line up with evidence, but whatever), and Joe lost all credibility as soon as he made that snarky comment about cops and also saying that it was inappropriate for them to investigate murd3red kids because it inconvenienced him as a tenant 🤦🏻‍♀️. So yeah… Chad is done for.

The death penalty is a different phase. First they have to find him guilty of charges. Then there is a death penalty hearing. The criteria are: Are there multiple victims? Were the victims part of a vulnerable population? (children) Was it a henious crime? And others, lf they meet that criteria, there is a death penalty hearing which each side presents why/why not Chad should be put to death. Probably more than you wanted to know.

Lori's step sons also wrote letters to the court about Lori forcing all the kids to take a lot of sleep medication often. The letters also said Lori had sex in front of the kids and there was some kind of molestation going on with the kids... Evil people aren't evil most of the time and usually can do it in private and no one ever knows... People usually aren't like that thank goodness.
