Good demo for those of us who wanter to know how well Kioti tractors start in the cold (assuming good mechanical condition). This is our world in the far north (WI, MN, MI, etc.). Seeing is believing.

Thanks Mike. I live in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. We are in a deep freeze righ tnow. I store my CK 4010 in my insulated shop with the heat on. I have a cab on it and I would never buy another one with out it. Never short of heat. Giving these tractors some TLC goes a long way in longevity. Great for loader work, manure spreaders, or snow blowers.

I purchased a ck2610se with factory cab for that reason not to have to freeze my but. At first when i was starting it in the cold wheater. even with the glow plug it would hesitate and smoke. Here in New Brunswick canada we get 4 months of cold and snow and after 60 years of it , it gets old quick. I enjoy youre videos .

I own a CK2610 and I'm in Colorado. I switched all the fluids to synthetic at the first maintenance and add the white Power Service diesel treatment to the fuel year around as it also cleans injectors. Never a problem and I use mine to plow snow. Even if you just move the tractor a short distance let it run so the battery charges as cycling the glow plugs uses lots of juice.

Good information, it was -1 where I am on the day you filmed this. The fuel in my tractor did not gel but the fuel in my truck did. I'm going to change the fuel filters tomorrow and pray that nothing is damaged.

my CK2610 started (eventually) in -43F wind chill a few nights ago. Took several tries with the glow plugs (4-5) and as many attempts to start. But it finally did, and then I moved it into the heated garage ;-) Poor baby, she wasn't happy about that, but the next day she was just fine! I love my CK2610

Thanks Mike. I live in Quebec and have a 2020 CK4010 (manual transmission). The past few weeks, we have had many cold days (-8F and colder). Just like you showed, my tractor did start with no problems whatsoever. Just coming on 100 hours and could not be more satisfied with the performance of this machine. The only thing I would recommend owners check is not only coolant/anti-freeze level but that it provides sufficient cold weather protection. I checked mine when we started getting very cold weather and found it to be borderline so beefed it up some by replacing some of the coolant with concentrate and then running the engine to mix thoroughly. I love my CK2510 here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I store my tractor in my unheated (for now) shop and when it gets cold I plug in the block heater (that it came with) for an hour or so and it smokes way less and it's warm enough that the glow plug light doesn't come on. When new the tractor would smoke a lot when using the brush hog or running at high RPM but now at 250 hours it doesn't smoke nearly as much. I'm very happy with my little work horse of a tractor!

Thanks for that tip (I could not find any reference to this simple feature on a CK2620) on the clutch pedal spring clip for cold nights and separation of clutch plate and trans plate. - N Idaho -

I live in Northern Maine where it's like what you got there 4or5 months ! I have the compact Kioti 22hp tractor with 51inch blower soft cab. I plug my in so I don't have to use glow plug plus my heater is ready to go too! I live here 54 years but understand what your saying as I get older. 🇨🇦We have a CK3510, living in Alberta. We can see -40, some internet folks wonder why we run 5W30 Synthetic Oil. This tractor starts amazingly well in the cold.

It was almost 0 the other day and I cycled my glow plugs 2x and my ck2610 started right up and had been sitting for few weeks. Got it from you guys and love it

You would learn to love this weather!!!! Our CK4010 & K9 always start right up. K9 does like to be plugged in when single digits hit. Only thing I would add, is for us frequency of use makes a difference how they start up too.

Ouch, eight degrees sound very cold for Tennessee. Of course that's bathing shorts weather around here, but it all depends on what you're used to.

I've found that in the coldest of cold temps, my CK2610 starts without the rough stumbling if I turn the key backwards and hold it for the glow plugs, before turning it forward and holding it (so two whole glowplug timeouts) before starting. Last time I did a single cycle at 32 degrees, it did the same rough start you showed, but at 15 degrees with the second cycle, it started perfectly smooth. I reserve it for only the coldest of temps, at freezing or below - excess use of the glowplugs will wear them out.

Also regular service with good fluid and filters makes it so easy to crank and operate in cold temps

Just an FYI, my seat safety switch freezes in weather such as this. (DK4210) If you bounce up and down a few times it should free it up. Also I use a fuel additive and never let it get below half during winter in Michigan.

Try it at -30 Here in Sask Canada, it gets COLD. Block heater and battery blanket are my tractor's best friends.

Had my RX66PSC two winters now here in central NewEngland, I had to leave it outside this year most of the time but she always starts right up at the normal below zero temps we get at 1300 ft altitude where we live. It has never run rough or had an issue starting or operating the hydraulics for that matter, I run a Woodmax SB84 snowblower this year and it works great and is a big timesaver for doing my mile long driveway. My wife really loves the cab, which thankfully makes me look like a champ.

Maybe you should've showed the ones with the cabs on them. Lmao. I keep using all these videos as to why we need a tractor with a cab... thank you for helping in proving my point. Lol

Larry, Thanks so much for the important information on cold starts. Scraper blade demo gonna be next?? Lol. Does one key fit all Kioti tractors?? Sure enjoy my ck3510hst. Neighbors drool who is gonna be lucky person to drive tractor when I am out of town!!

One thing I do is use Rotella T6, 5w-40w in the crankcase. Its SYNTHETIC oil meant for diesels. The thinner 5w, being also synthetic, flows much easier in winter and the 40w part is the recommended viscosity for winter. My Kioti dealer recommended this as an excellent choice after the initial break-in oil change.

My kioti CS220 needs 6 cycles of glow plug and even then it chugs black smoke for few minutes while shaking your teeth out. It's a 2021 with 80 hours on it and has done it since new even at above zero

i live in Okla and i have 2003 DK55. i couldn't get my tractor started the other day when it was 0 degrees. i would cycle the glow plugs a couple of times and try to start it and ended up running the battery down. I couldn't find if it had a block heater or not, so i got my space heater out and had it blowing on an angle between the front tire and loader arm for about 30 min. while i also charged the battery. After a could of cranks the engine finally cranked over and started, so think i had a fuel problem. put diesel additive in while haying my now balling cows. Had to start it again 2 nights later at 7 degrees and it fired right up. I'M READY FOR SPRING.

How is Charlie? Haven't seen him at the new store. I had my Bolens / Isicki under a tarp and in sub zero temps I used a torpedo heater to thin the oil and fluids. Thanks and keep warm. 8 deg isn't that cold even in Pittsburgh.

thanks Mike. Any tips on how to get at the top cables for the loader joystick on a CK30. I am scrambling to get it fixed, up here in Northern British Columbia with cold temps and feet, not inches of snow.

Larry ward. 2610 stars in these conditions easily. I use tractor every day in this weather. Turn key backwards cycle glowplug till symbol goes out. And let it run at least 15 minutes to cycle fluids. And then work with it.

Clean the seat before you sit down. Good info btw

I own a 2020 2610 If you had that deep freeze for a week it wouldn't start because the sensor in the seat get so cold it does function in you put heat to it

i think that all pricey farm tractors should offer a general purpose shelter option to give the equipment long life... so many tractors just rust away before their time..:/ thanks...:)

I Chucklingg here, I think it was 16 days below 0F and 49F below for the coldest night. Right now its -1 F and going togrt to +15. My CK3510 is in the shop, Has been staying about 18 to 20 above in there. Had to use the tractor twice and it did start up, after the glow plug and warmed up, But even after 30 + minutes, it had not moved the needl off the cold. What to do?? Recommendations not including moving. LOL (northern MN) ps: where on the tractor do you mount the heater, Aluminum pan or block?

I’ve got a new DK5310se that does not start this well. At this temp in a unheated shed with the block heater plugged in for 6h it’s worse than all the tractors in this vid. At -13F it took several glow plug cycles and starting attempts and barely started when plugged in.

I turned on my engine block heater for 2 hours before I start mine, After it starts I let it idle for 15-30 minutes before I use it. You guys don't know what extreme weather is.

Common rail is to complicated for small tractors. I really wish kiote wud use the kukje engines because they don’t use common rail on most of their diesels under 50 horse. I think your new line of tym has kukje engines.
