The 5.0 has that magic extra tone that the 5.2 doesnt have. The 5.2 is more agressive, but the 5.0 has that beautiful V10 tone that the LFA has as well. Like a crying dark force, so beautifull

5.0 got the higher pitch almost like LF-As 5.2 sounds deeper and intimidating with the downlow and mid rev rumble 5.0 sounds better for Gallardos 5.2 fits perfectly for Huracans

A friend of my father’s back in the day had a red gallardo 5.0. He always made this joke to the 5.2 owners, he’d say “you bought the wrong gallardo fool!” And now I know what he meant by this

The 5.0 is a Lamborghini developed engine. This engine has its origins in two concept cars made by Lamborghini, the 1988 P140 and the 1995 Calà. Both were equipped with engines having a 3.9 litre displacement. In the early 2000s Lamborghini brought back the V10 design. With help from Audi, the engine was redesigned for the new Gallardo by increasing its displacement. The 5.2 is an Audi developed engine, based on the Audi 4.2 V8. The early version of this Audi V10 found in the S6 and S8, had a split-pin crankshaft inspired by the Lamborghini V10, giving the early Audi 5.2's an even firing order as well. The 5.0 bi-turbo V10 in the RS6 was a destroked version of this early Audi 5.2, but now with a common-pin cranckshaft for extra strength and simplicity, instead of the split-pin. This common-pin cranckshaft gave the RS6 V10 an uneven firing order. The final Audi 5.2 V10 found in the R8 and later Gallardo would be a combination of the S6/S8 capacity, and the RS6 simpler and stronger crankshaft. Lamborghinis own 5.0 got the Gallardo quickly of the ground in 2003. But by the mid/late-00's, with Audi/VAG having a fully developed V10 of their own with more power potential (at lower cost), It made more sense for Audi to use their V10 engine in the baby-Lambo. The Lamborghini 5.0 was discontinued in 2008, and the Audi 5.2 V10 introduced the same year in the Audi R8 and facelifted Gallardo. The Audi 5.2 V10 engine is still used in the Huracán today, - and soon the Huracán exclusively. I personaly like the sound of an even-firing V10 better. Uneven firing makes an engine sound heavier at top rpm, and rougher in the middle. Which I don't think suits the high hot-headed tone of a V10.

Aww man. I'm getting a bit emotional cos of the nostalgia with the 5.0L Gallardo's sound. I used to love that car and still do. I used to play with that car in Need for Speed and I loved it. I was really young back then as well.

5 litres for me! It's more organic. The whole car is just more natural too. I like the looks better. I've experienced my one and only supercar drive in a Gallardo 5.0 V10 Spyder. 40 minutes of glory!

5.0 actually has an EVEN firing interval. (72 deg firing interval with the 90 deg vee-angle) 5.2 has uneven firing interval. (uneven firing interval of either 54 deg or 90 deg separation)

5.0L even firing order sounds more like an F1 V10. The 5.2L sounds more like an Audi 5 cylinder engine.

A smooth , uniform sound is always more pleasing to the ear than an interrupted pulsing sound. Add harmonics to the smooth sound and you have good sounding car. Some people have a nostalgic affinity to harsher uneven sounds but that's wrong and I hate them 🤣

If only the engine of the first gen could be in the body of the second gen

The 5.0 or the even firing motor produces a much smoother sound the 5.2 don’t sound as easy on the ears I mean it might be sounding good but it won’t have the same effect the 5.0 had

I really don't get this. If you open up the self-study program for Audi's 5.2 TFSI engine, it CLEARLY states that it's an even-firing engine, since it has a split-pin offset by 18 degrees, there's even sketches and illustrations of it and everything. But everywhere else you go, it's the other way around? Search "5.2 tfsi 923603" on google and read the PDF.

Sounds like an LFA and the Carrara GT and I think the 5.0 engine should of stayed until the Gallardo was discontinued/retired

the 5.0 certainly sounded nicer, but more power was needed.

I have the LP560-4, and a friend of mine has the first gen Gallardo. They both sound awesome, but even he admits, my LP560-4 sounds better in person. Videos do not do these cars justice, at all.

5.2 liter v10 developed by lambo for an facelift gallardo, it is a clean sheet design, not o rehash of audi v10 contary to rumors. Also maurizzio reggiani says this is lambo engine
