The premiere episode of Being Frank is like nothing you have seen before. You might have seen the various elements that comprise this show; restaurants, Italian food, chef's, Queens etc., but you have never seen them filtered through the lens of the two most mercurial restaurateurs we have ever met, Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli. In this first episode, we get to know the Franks' by watching them host an epic party, visit their parents, and make lasagna for the world's best chefs.

I swear that like 75% of the food programming Vice does are just extended advertisements for these guy's restaurants.

and thats not obvious? Cant remember if it was Marshall Mcluhan or Noam Chomsky who said the real content is the ads, the tv shows are the filler. Now they have just merged those ideas.

I completely don't understand this gripe. This is a show about two guys that own restaurants. You guys don't think they should talk about the restaurants they own? What fucking planet are you from? If the show was about where these two guys go and play billiards, would you be happier? And pulling Mcluhan and Chomsky into this is just wackadoodle apeshit insanity. They run restaurants that are universally loved. They don't need to advertise, you can't even get a seat at these restaurants without a fair amount of effort. Switch your god damn brains on. And for fucks sake don't read smart people's books if you're just going to go out into the world and misuse their ideas. Shit.

@waynehedd

TheStankyGreen No one's saying they're unique and where is the ego coming from... are you projecting cause you can't find aesthetics beyond Wal-mart.
@TheStankyGreen
@TheStankyGreen 10 жыл бұрын
Wayne Hedd No I am not projecting, nice way to make an assumption when you didn't understand something in my comment. I am talking about how most hipsters think that they themselves or the tight nit click they hang around are the only one's with actual taste or intelligence for the independent shit they are into and that everyone else isn't on their "level". No one wants to be called a hipster especially the hipsters because most of them are self centered jackasses in my opinion of course but there is plenty of people to back me up on that notion. Anyway no hard feelings, sorry about the last comment but it sounded like you are a hipster trying to justify them in some way by using "style" as what all hipsters have.

italian food is whatever. out of all the restuarants you can go to in nyc, japanese, french, steakhouses, greek, etc, i'd probably rank italian at the bottom of my list. i can make pasta at home. if i'm going out i want to eat something unique and flavorful, not eggplant parmesan. don't get me wrong the mediterranean seafood side of it can be amazing when its done right but u don't see that often. these guys seem to do it right tho

After skimming through the vid to find the part where they make lasagna, I decided to read the comments to see if it's even in the video. Conclusion is it's in less than 10% of it so the title is clearly clickbait. Say episode 1. I will not bother watching the next episodes.

It is against the law to serve ground beef raw like in this video. That is because ecoli lives on the surface of beef which is ground up exposing the ground beef to ecoli, which can be deadly. Since ecoli lives on the surface of meat, when you sear a steak you kill the ecoli, and the inside can be served rare.

Joyce T So, how would you eat beef tartare?
@Sam-vi2ho
@Sam-vi2ho 9 жыл бұрын
+SwissCheeseOnaPlate let me explain this one better the inside of meat is sterile, the outside surface is not the smaller the meat is cut, the larger the surface area of the bacteria to multiply in a big steak lasts much longer than some diced meat diced meat lasts much longer than minced, like two days when you open a package of mince meat, it will only last for a day if you have to stricly follow guidelines "how would you eat beef tartare?" either with a spoon or fork, maybe fingers if you wanna be a savage what you wanna ask is "how do you prepare beef tartare?" get some awesome fresh meat, not mince then there are two ways one is chopping it yourself, the other is putting it into processing machine serve asap, bacteria multiply every 20minutes at room temp if done correctly, shit should be pretty low risk

I find this quite confusing having watched about a quarter of it.
