Hey Robert, there is a second video coming with more answers. Essentially all laser welders will do the same thing - there are some great machines on the market and I guess quality and after sales service determines the price. I will be following up these videos with a live for direct questions too. For me, the price makes absolute sense. These machines are tools and mine gets used all day. I will film some examples soon.

@@roberthunter5728 I’m using the Dado 1 and it does everything I need it to. But if you are looking for something more powerful I’d say the 2 or larger. I’ve got a very small workshop so the 1 works for me. But with a bigger workshop I’d scale it up.

Dont waste your time on the Dado , Go attend one of Jewellery shows in hong kong , in march , june , september . The Laser machines from china , much better . Large LCD screens so u can look at that rather than risk damage to your eyes . Very small and compact maybe jus abit larger than the Dado . cost USD 2500 - 3500 for the most powerful ones . Dado is really alot of marketing and Branding .

The permanent jewelry welder looks like a spot welder. I don’t have much experience with those unfortunately but I have a friend who used a similar type of device for years and just moved over to the type in this video. I’ll catch up with him and let you know.

I’ve only got access to the first version. They will both do exactly the same weld, the only difference is speed and power. So the 2 has more punch which would do the same job quicker. The weld will be great on both. Hope this helps 👍🏻

As Jaco mentions they would do the same job. If it helps we have customers that have upgraded from V1 to V2 and are very happy with the improvements of V2 it makes working on silver easier and you can work faster with it.

Hi 👋🏻 yes, platinum is definitely harder. When given the option between platinum or gold, I’d go with platinum. You get more detail with it. Silver is a lot softer. Platinum is a great metal for fine work.

*harder to melt, polish, cast* very soft metal, i mean pliable. there's also different qualities of platinum (999, 950, 900, 850) i hate when they can't answer your question properly. makes me doubt they're knowledge if you make from a ring from scratch, a platinum band and a gold band. you'll see the difference. Pure/999 very soft 24k Gold very soft. White Gold is very hard vs yellow gold if you're going to do pave', micro pave', bezel, channel, bead, bar setting, flush, invisible setting, etc...
