It'd be awesome if you made a playlist with all your videos on knots, latches, and hitches

I've been working with my scouts on lashings and this is great for them to see someone other than me in a Zoom meeting explaining them.

When ever I do square lashings I always like to wrap from inside to outside it looks cool when you need to do one with a bunch of wraps

Hot tip, film how-to vids with the camera situated ‘in the first person’ so the camera is looking at the task from the same perspective you are looking at it. Looking at what you are doing with the camera in the second person perspective means that not only do we need to learn the techniques but also reverse them in our heads, corporalscorner is fantastic at this, he slowly does the technique with the camera nice and close to the work and directly over the work from the perspective of the person doing the work

I've been taught when making square lashings to always go on the inside of the previous turn. This is presumably to guarantee you dress things properly and keep the lashing tight

I was with on everything except the Diagonal Lashing our book in the scouting troop I work with says that lashing is only used when joining together at an angle like the two pole at the end of a lean-to shelter

Nothing screams a "sorry" camp more than a gaggle of granny knots. LOL

When doing the finishing clove hitch, just start doing half hitches. After 2 half hitches, you'll have a clove hitch, but you won't have to break tension since half hitches can be done under load. You can still do another half hitch or two after that for security.

The Eskimos started their lashings with an Eskimo Bowline, which was discovered when analyzing a 100+ year old ceremonial lashed gift sled from first contact with Europeans. It is a really nice way to start lashings. The Eskimos are insanely good with small cord techniques.
