Fever, this was your game! I saw so much progress and maybe a little 🔥, also some self-defeating moves. I won't identify the sources because you already know. There is definitely a need for discipline and reserve, even on the floor. You can't run around wild on every play. Like my mother would say, "somebody has to have some sense" ❤ & 🏀!

2:54 An illegal screen in basketball generally occurs when the offensive player does not allow an opposing defender, who would be the target of the screen, enough time and/or distance to avoid the screen.

It sucks when half the other women and the refs all want you to fail. But heaven forbid anyone say the WNBA is boring. Support those boring players and teams but restrict and downgrade your best player. And you wonder why the WNBA is failing.

I have watched Caitlin Clark play in four WNBA games. She is a really good player. She looks like a young player who is trying to find her way, as anyone would entering a pro league from college. last night one thing was apparent, her team is reluctant to use her strengths. Caitlin is a sharpshooter, a 3-point specialist, but her coach decided to have the tall lumbering center of the team handle the game's last shot. Clark peeled off and was open, there were only 5 seconds left, they have not won a game, why not place the ball in the hands of a great shooter...

@davidpouncy847112 күн бұрын
Clark literally played so bad 1 game she hid from the media and refused to talk to them which shows you her true character. In that game she was 2 for 8 which mean she only hit 2 out of her 8 shot attempts. That's 25% which is PATHETIC!! In that same game she attempted 7 3pt shot but only made 1 of them. Thats 14% efficient which is MISERABLE there is no way you can claim she is shooting well or playing good with those stats. And keep in mind she has broke the rookie record for most turnovers in 4 games by a rookie in wnba history. Anyone who refuses to ACKNOWLEDGE REALITY is biased and delusional period !!

How come Celeste Taylor is not being used. She is a defensive specialist and can also shoot from medium, rebounds, and from the arc. There is something wrong with the coaching. So now, Fever is already 0 wins and 4 losses. Funny and terrible, what is it doing despite having Caitlin. The last position should have been played for a 3-point play for Clark, not with Boston.

Fever players other than Clark need to start making layups!!! I’ve watched 3 or 4 highlights where Boston and other players are missing a basic layup!! These players are supposed to be professional players, they shouldn’t be missing layups. If I had missed a layup like that in junior high/high school, my coach would’ve had me running laps until I puked! If these players had made these layups, the Fever probably would’ve won several games.

This is the first year I have followed the WNBA; I have watched the highlights of ALL games, not just the Fever(I DO live in Iowa!). A lot of plays would have been called fouls in college, but are not in the WNBA. For ALL teams. There are quite a few excellent 3-point shooters. I look forward to Paige Bueckers joining next year, and the return of Nikka Muhl to active status. Caitlin has done much to elevate the status of women's basketball, and boost the ticket sales and TV coverage. In time she will be a great, but needs to learn defense and team play.

I'm puzzled by Indiana's last possession. They had 11 seconds on the clock to work with. Why not run a play for Clark to either take a 3 pointer for the win if she had a good look, or to drive in to tie the score? 4:56 - I'd bet my bottom dollar that if that was Caitlin Clark with the ball, the game is tied.

if you watch the play on slo-mo, Boston made a smart play to drive in at 10 seconds left - she beat both the defenders, but the entire rest of team just stood and watched her and none of the Fever players moved to the basket. it was obvious where the ball was going but the fever were flat on their feet watching the end unfold... this is supposed to be pro basketball. 1 fever player under the basket, 3 Sun players, no one to help out Boston... really tough to watch that.

game lost at the foul line by the refs (24 vs. 12 shots). and giving more time in the game to 3 players other than cc. and her taking only 17 shots with others taking more and producing less. and benching her on a crucial possession. and relying on boston to get the tying basket. most errors could be corrected if the team had a coach.

True but they need to build the offenses around her and stop trying to make her fit in to it it’s not college anymore

People just need to chill. CC's not overrated and will be fine but she has some holes in her game like every rookie. A mid-range game would help her so much. She's run off the arc and everybody knows it's 3s or runners near the hoop for her. Can't stand these people who imply she's too good for the league and trash it at every opportunity.

@@carseye1219 great comment. Let's see how she makes adjustments. Like I said up thread Bird only averaged 16 In his first 5 games. er Too soon to draw any firm conclusions yet, but like someone else said her handles still need work at this level and she'll have to get stronger

Clearly, the Connecticut player leaned to her left on the attempted screen. She did not have position. Should’ve been blocking call.

Refs should be required to watch the replay and explain their decision. That moving screen was a foul on the screener. Awful call even after pretending to look at the replay

Clark just passes the ball and stands around , her pick and roll needs work . The defense forces her left and she gets stopped and gets caught trying to go back right . and throws it down low too the block and just stands around. SG IS WHERE SHE NEEDS TO BE .

"How do you not have Clark out here,"....why did the coach have CC on the bench in the first placr???? I don't get it. Unless coqch wants CC to rest?

if i was the coach i would go to caitlin with the final play, telling her to go for a 3 with the shot clock expiring.

i don't believe this coach wants Clark to succeed. she doesn't like her game or fame.

Wow! What a bad call, should've been called the opposite way ... at worst, it was a no-call situation.

Clark has got to be fatigued by this point; 39 games played with Iowa and now the WNBA.
@paulmd774712 күн бұрын
I don't know why the WNBA is so in love with missing layups. They need to figure that out. Tie game with 10 seconds left and you drive for a missed layup instead of kicking the ball out to Caitlin Clark to win it? Utterly insane decision making. Clark HAS TO be taking that last shot. She is the team. She is the WNBA.
