It will be cool seeing Anthony Michael Hall and Debbie Gibson together. I want to see The Last Blockbuster because of the father from Fresh Off the Boat, and nostalgia

I am very weary about Netflix making a blockbuster show. Netflix and blockbuster had a contentious rivalry. And they put blockbuster out of business. So I can't see how Netflix can make an unbiased Blockbuster show.

@@RetroCrunch I saw either 1/4 or 1/2 of the live version with Ferris Bueller & I don’t know about that as the best Christmas movies are Home Alone, Gremlins, The OG How the Grinch. But…check your discord for rest

I think people are remembering Blockbuster through rose-tinted glasses. There's a reason why blockbuster went out of business. Blockbuster sucked. Yes, in the 80s & 90s, blockbuster was revolutionary. But people forget late fees, membership fees, constantly never having new releases in stock, never having Ghost Dad in stock, etc. Blockbuster sold my friend's late fees to collections, while he was serving in Iraq. What a garbage company. So the second we got a slightly better alternative, we kicked blockbuster video to the curb. It's also ironic that Netflix is now going through their own financial problems.

I dont think people are expecting Blockbuster to come back, but a show about the last blockbuster and a fun way for us to keep the memories alive isnt exactly bad. I think its good for retro and I think its good for Blockbuster.
